Follow these tips to brighten your morning!
Stretch. It’s a wonderful way to loosen your joints and increase flexibility. It will also get rid of any knots in your muscles from sleeping! You can try yoga or meditation, too.
Take a shower. Showers wake you up and will leave you feeling fresh and ready for the day!
Make your bed. You’ll be less likely to get back in and it will make you feel productive!
Eat a healthy breakfast. It’s the most important meal of the day, so give your body the calories and nutrients it needs!
Turn on some music. It’ll leave you feeling happy, relaxed, and ready for the day!
Wear something cute. You’ll be feeling confident and comfortable all day long! To save time, prepare your outfit the night before.
Read an inspirational quote. Find one that motivates you!
Wake up early. Give yourself plenty of time to get ready in the morning. If you’re less rushed, you’ll be in a better mood for the rest of the day.
Drink a tall glass of water. It’ll get you hydrated and feeling good!
Make a list of things you want to accomplish. Reward yourself at the end of the day if you complete all of your tasks. A list will help keep you focused and satisfied when you can check everything off!
I love this!!!
General Strength exercises for runners. Part one includes the Pedestal Routine and the Myrtl routine. These two routines should be done following your running workout. The Myrtl routine gets its name because it focuses on your hip girdle. All the exercises in this routine either strengthen or help provide a greater range of motion in this area.
Trying this soon! And that looks like a bizarre mountain backdrop! Real or fake? :p

No Time to Work Out...?
I just scoffed down a Wispa ice cream in less than 4 bites, and now I feel like an enormous heifer. Normally I would offset the guilt by going out for a run, or doing an extra 15 minutes of Pilates, but today is just so busy, I don't know how I'm supposed to fit everything in!

It got me thinking about the best ways to fit exercise into a busy workday... trust me, I've tried everything.
1) Walk, run or cycle to work - this is obviously only an option if you live within walking, running, or cycling distance. And if you have showers in your offices, or a gym close by. This doesn't work for me, I'm a freelancer!! My commute takes me from my bed, to my cosy home office.
2) Get your workout while you work - use an exercise ball as an office chair. I tried this one! It's supposed to strengthen your core and help with back problems, but I just kept falling off it, which is really awkward during conference calls.
3) You know that time in the evening, after work, but before dinner, I call it "Facebook Time". Scrap that and go for a run. And then post a smug update about it.
4) Wake up an hour earlier and just get it done! I've found this method the most effective - it charges you up for the day and puts you in a great mood. AND, it makes you more conscious about what you eat throughout the rest of the day; you won't want to ruin your good streak by pigging out.

Water, without the boring
We all know that water is good for us. We all know it's essential to keep our bodies functioning. And we all know we should be drinking about 8 glasses of the stuff per day.
But let's be honest, water is a bit boring, and you can't always be loading it up with sugary cordial or drinking fresh juices - your teeth would never forgive you for a start! And then there's the extra hidden calories to think about.
I've been on a lifelong mission to make water taste less yawn-worthy ever since I noticed the amazing difference it makes to my skin. If I get dehydrated, my skin shouts it out to the world. Thanks, skin!
So I wanted to share some of my "recipes" for making water less boring - most of these are also popular with kids too.
1. Add fruit, any fruit, although it works best with peeled and skinless fruits as this will let the flavour loose in your drink.
2. Better still, add frozen fruit. Grapes and blackberries make a great alternative to ice cubes, and then you get a little sweet treat at the end of your drink.
3. Try a fruit slushie cooler - blend any watery fruit (I like this with watermelon) with some crushed ice. Top up with sparkling water and serve. So delicious and refreshing!
4. Make cucumber water. This is great for after a workout, it makes water taste even more hydrating (don't ask me how that works.) Simply slice up cucumbers and add to a pitcher of water. Add ice, or keep in the fridge to serve up an even cooler treat.
5. Drink tea! I'm currently loving Tetley's Vanilla Rooibos (or red bush) tea. It's naturally caffeine free, so you can enjoy this all day long, and it counts towards your daily water intake. It's also naturally sweet, so you won't need milk or sugar!

Foreigners
Purchasing mail order from outside the UK still fills some people with dread, are they legitimate? Will it arrive? And when it doesn’t, how do I speak enough Russian to find out a tracking number. As a clothes lover, I am commonly described by friends in the trade as the ‘death of retail’ surfing the world for a few quid off D&G. Being an online marketer myself, I consider it to be entirely research, of course.
A week or so ago I think I found my dream clothing site. We commonly get compliments from our customers scattered around the world about our speedy global service, so I’d like to compliment www.luisaviaroma.com whose parcel arrived from Milan (via DHL, always reassuring) in the most perfect packaging.
As I pick my way thru layers of branded paper and knots of silk, I confess I still gave them a customary call a few minutes after giving away my credit card details to check they were who they said they were - old habits. Luisaviaroma: now firmly added to my favourites and having a significant impact on my monthly outgoings - I salute you.

Guacamole for your Skin
It's a constant source of amusement to my friends that I love love love guacamole, but insist that I hate avocado. The first time I saw guacamole being freshly prepared, I have to admit I was a little horrified. There must be some kind of molecular voodoo going on to turn that yucky green gloop into a delicious dip.

But I recently found out that avocado is also a miracle mush for your skin. If, like me, you have combination skin with oily patches living side by side with some of the driest skin ever, then this avocado face mask could be the thing you're looking for!
You will need:
1/2 ripe avocado
1 inch piece of cucumber
A squeeze of honey
1 tbsp white sugar (use brown if you want a harsher scrub!)
A few drops of olive oil.
How to make it:
Mash up the avocado (skin off) and cucumber (skin off). Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl except for the sugar and oil. Mix the sugar and oil and then add this to the rest (the oil stops the sugar from dissolving in the mushy mix).
Slap it generously onto your face (or any other part of your body that needs a little TLC) let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes, and then rinse gently with water using a circular motion.
Pat dry with a towel and moisturise as normal. You skin will now be silky smooth and extra hydrated! Bye bye dry patches!!

Clarisonic Brush Heads
I think it's safe to say that the Clarisonic is one of the best investments you can make for your skin, but really, you can't put a price on skin that is baby soft, plump and dewy.
One question we get asked a lot here at CB towers is: how often should I change the brush head?
Over time, the brush head will wear down slightly and stop being as effective, so we recommend changing it every 3 to 4 months. But you might want to change it sooner once you've seen the different brush heads available.
If your skin feels quite tight after cleansing, you might have sensitive skin and should take a look at the softer brush heads available... Sensitive, and Delicate were developed with softer bristles that are unbelievably gentle, but still give you that sonic clean feeling.
If you have oily or combination skin, check out the new deep pore brush that was designed to clean deep down in those hard to reach places, like around the nose.
And finally, if you've got the Clarisonic plus or pro, then you could pick up the body brush for an all over clean feeling.
Hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday!

Shakes
It's rare not to see someone in the sauna or steam after a workout feverishly shaking their plastic container – interested non-gym regulars staring at it curiously believing it’s a banned substance about to cause an outbreak in adult back acne.
Believe it or not it wasn’t that long ago that protein served up in a ‘delicious’ shake or a bar that leaves you chewing the same mouthful 4 hours after your workout were not in the vending machines of every reputable gym. In fact you couldn’t easily find protein shakes in the early 90’s and it was common place for that plastic container to be full of tuna/chicken or eggs.
As I sit in front of my morning dose of USN Whey protein I am reflecting on the fact that it's now huge business and asking the question all protein consumers ask - Why do they still taste terrible?

If my workout wardrobe was this adorable, I'm sure I could be convinced to go running more often. Love it!

British Summertime!
Is anyone else feeling a bit cheated this summer? I feel like I put all this effort into getting bikini ready, and then the sun didn’t even bother to show up. Well, I thought I was bikini ready, until Jess Ennis strolled into the nation’s hearts and gave us all a bad case of ab-envy. Might have to find a way to combine the Compex with a New Girl marathon.
But onwards to more important things! This blog - what am I going to bring to the mix? My obsessive approach to skincare, my aversion to boring workouts (I HATE running!), yummy recipes, my favourite Pinterest finds and snippets from the places I go, and the people I meet along the way.
This week, I'm in sunny Lancashire! Woohoo! My dream of British summertime BBQ's and garden parties have been dashed.
Go to the window. Now look up... is that the fifty shades of grey everyone has been talking about?
