I hate school

I hate the fact that I celebrate grades. I celebrate what makes me break down and wish death at least once a month. At least. What just measures people's ability to understand more than others, to memorize better than others, to be able to work and study easier than others. This is such a horrible scale that people are bullied for, by family or friends, the causes people depression, that ruins people's confidence. Learning shouldn't be that way. It shouldn't be excel or you're a failure. It shouldn't be don't enter class unless you dress as we want you to. It shouldn't be seen as a prison by every single student. School shouldn't cause mental illness.

Just a small little reminder

If someone you know shows you an outfit they think they look good in, don’t let the first thing you look at be their wide hips or bug thighs or big belly with an unpleasant look on your face. Not having a perfect body and finding clothes that fit and look good can be difficult for some people, so when they do find an outfit they like please please don’t ruin it for them, especially if you’re close to them because they’d be looking for support not judgement…

Why is it so necessary for parents that their child is always the top in their class? Why must they make them feel guilty for not excelling in something? And why is it that parents and schools many times give harsh or mean punishments for children when they make mistakes? Like, who doesn’t make mistakes?? I am so sick and tired of blaming myself, and hating myself, and isolating myself, and hurting myself simply because I wasn’t good enough, because I wasn’t the best, because I could have done better. I might have gotten high grades because of this, but I lost myself in return. I have no personality, I have no social life, I don’t know how to do anything without someone telling me what to do calmly and without yelling, I am unbelievably sensitive, I Hate Myself. Grades aren’t everything, they don’t define who you are, who you are going you become, who you must be. Love yourself for who you are and don’t you dare make anyone’s negativity, even your family’s, come in the way of your choices, of your dreams, of your creativity. Be who you are and let the world accept it because no one deserves to suffer the pain of not being accepted, of being rejected by their community, family, and even themselves. Accept yourself for who you are because that is all you are ever going to have forever.

Some facts you might not know about Alan Turing

I have just finished reading Alan Turing’s biography (written by Andrew Hodges) and I wrote down some interesting/cute/amazing/nerdy facts about Alan:

• Alan taught himself to read, but was quicker to recognise figures, and he had an infuriating habit of stopping at every lamppost to identify its serial number • on picnic with his family, he wanted to gather the wild bee’s honey and observed the bees’ flightpaths to locate the nest • he hated games at school, and he later said that the necessity of avoiding the ball in hockey had taught him to run fast • his father loved literature and was pleased when Alan told him he liked one line from Hamlet - only to learn that it was the last line: “Exeunt, bearing off the bodies…” • his first friend at school was Christopher, who he first met in 1927, and he was struck by him and “wanted to look again at his face, as he felt so attracted” • during what Alan said was the happiest week of his life, he, Chris, and a friend went to the cinema and on the way back Alan wanted to test how much Chris wanted his company, so he hung back and then Chris “beckoned to me (mostly with his eyes) to walk beside me” • he made a star globe out of a lampshade and woke up at 4am to look at the night sky • in Chris’ memory, his family founded a prize which Alan won • at Christmas 1934 Alan asked for a teddy bear because he never had one as a little boy - he got one and it was called Porgy • when Alan was at Princeton in the US he complained in a letter that he didn’t like “the way they speak”, “the impossibility of getting a bath” and “their ideas on room temperature” • Alan liked to chant the couplet “Dip the apple in the brew, let the Sleeping Death seep through” from Disney’s Snow White over and over again • he broke up with Joan by reciting the closing lines of Oscar Wilde’s “The Ballad of Reading Gaol” • he didn’t like the sight of blood and even once fainted when he grazed himself shaving • he was an avid long-distance runner • he wrote a short story about a gay man named Alec, but only three pages survived • Alan died on 7 June 1954, most likely by committing suicide; the cause of death was cyanide poisoning (next to his bed was half an apple which might have been dipped in cyanide)

How about adults consider that I am a freaking child. My problems are not about poverty, or unemployment or whatever's considered important for them, my problems are about grades and food and items I didn't buy and items way too expensive that I shouldn't have bought, my problems are children's and teenagers' problems, but that doesn't mean in any way that they're inconvenient, that doesn't mean that you have the right to dismiss them just because you don't understand or don't see the point. Just let me live my effin' age, don't make me hate myself because you think my problems are silly and I'm stupid for having them.

Why do parents not realize that their kids not only learn from their words but actions as well? If you smoke, there's a big chance that your children are going to smoke. If you curse, your children are going to curse. If you look through your child's belongings, they are going to learn not to trust easily or not to trust people at all. Your actions with and in front of your child define who they are going to become. So if you fight a lot, yell a lot, curse a lot, even if it's not directed toward your child, don't wonder why they are weak, or moody, or insecure, or rebellious, or whatever they become, because it's mostly your fault. Don't act like you don't make mistakes because we all do. Your child is not always at fault. Don't blame everything on them because with time, they will learn to do it themselves. If you want to raise a humble, polite, and responsible child, look at yourself first.

People keep telling me that I should learn to love myself, realize that mistakes are natural because that’s the human nature, but how do you learn to love yourself when you keep making mistakes and never learn? When you’re never good enough? When the mistakes you did still haunt you? When the things you shouldn’t have said to people can’t be taken back? How do you learn to love a monster?

Ahh don't you hate it when you know something, and you're 100% sure of it but you don't have any valid proof, so everyone just dismisses you and thinks you're an annoying liar. >_<

Can parents not criticize their children loudly in front of other people? Like if your child makes a mistake don't stand in front of all the people and declare in a loud voice how your kid is wrong and tell them the right way to do stuff. It makes us feel small, stupid and ashamed. Just don't.

When a girl lays in bed happy she's sick because then she'll lose weight even though the ache in her stomach and head is unbearably painful, you realize how fucked up society really is.
