The White Day replies have begun! Expect to see them rolled out over the course of a few days. Enjoy!
2026 Valentine Event
Valentine's Day is on its way, which means...it's time for our annual Valentine event.
Same rules as before applies. If this is your first time hearing about it, don't worry. I'll go over the details again below.
Here’s how this Valentine tradition works:
1) Make a Valentine.
It can be a card like this, an audio piece like so, a drawing - or anything else outside the box! Just keep it PG-13 and clean. (Nothing that promotes hateful/malicious content and nothing religiously offensive either.) Here’s a full list of previous Valentines (along with the men’s accompanying replies).
2) Give your Valentine to one of the men (or women) from any of our games - i.e. Don’t Take This Risk or Beauty and the War (X Playing Pieces).
The webtoons are included. You can give a Valentine to multiple characters if you so wish! (This is Girl x Boy and Boy x Girl so if you give a Valentine to a man, he’ll treat you as a woman and vice versa. Friendship Valentines can be given to all.)
3) Get a Valentine back about a month later!
In Japan, White Day is on March 14 and it's when men return gifts to women who gave them something on Valentine's Day. In accordance with that, you can expect to receive a White Day reply one month later! (For the sake of convenience, the female characters will reply at the same time if they receive anything. Basically, if you send in something for the Valentine event during the submission period, you'll receive one back around a month later!)
To avoid overwhelming your tumblr feed, I will typically spread out the White Day replies over several days so if you don't see it immediately, please be patient until I finish posting everything.
Submissions will remain open until February 15, 2026. (That means you have until the clock strikes midnight and it turns into February 16.) So if you'd like a response to your Valentine, please do turn in your submission before that time!

Unknown misses you, too. Fortunately, Valentine's Day is coming around the corner. That means our annual Valentine's Day/White Day event is coming up soon.
And whether you want to participate or just watch what the responses are...well, if Unknown receives a Valentine or two, you can be sure to hear from him on White Day.
Now, this is normally when I would be visiting the Discord, but I actually came down with a cold this week so I'll need some rest today. It means I'll miss you all! And look forward to talking to everyone next time...and seeing what Valentines you might submit soon.

Yes, Beauty and the War (X Playing Pieces) is still in progress. At the moment, I've been quiet on social media, tumble included, while I focus on the game.
While the writing is done, I'm still working on the art, animations, and directing the voicework. I apologize for how long it's been taking, but I (Crown Ruler, the team lead) am someone who wants to make sure even important background characters have artwork and voiced lines. I've always been aiming for a fully animated, fully voiced game with a ton of choices (on top of several romanceable bachelors, completely optional), and I haven't given up! (And yes, there is both a free version and an extended paid version.)
So rest assured, progress is being made steadily and surely. Just wait until you're able to see previews!
I did put a little sneak peek at the end of the Don't Take This Risk video I released not too long ago.
My patreon family also gets to see fun monthly previews!
I do plan to be more active on social media in the future once the project is closer to completion. In the meantime, I hope you continue to look forward to the game and enjoy the journey along the way! I certainly appreciate everyone's support and encouragement. Unknown is so aggressive with his advances, that obvious discomfort from the other does not mean he feels the need to stop. Maybe, MAYBE he will slow down, at most. This is a pretty core facet of his character that has been demonstrated without fail dozens of times.
And yet, this man is ever full of contradictions, because if you choose to push him away when he hugs you at the door, he immediately sulks about it and doesn't give you so much as a chance to explain. Maybe you were just surprised, you don't like being touched, etcetera, all things that unknown will listen to (and promptly ignore) in most other situations. But nope, he just closes the door. Immediate resignation.
Initially, in my mind this went against my perception of him, not just in general but in that state of the game. Doesn't he normally take being pushed away like it's nothing? Isn't he desperate to find who he's looking for? Wasn't he just so happy to invite you over?
Well, that last part's the problem: he wasn't expecting to see you. His Thoughts reveal that he was honestly expecting you to call the police instead of coming over yourself. Meaning, you're trying to help him in a way he doesn't want.
When he does actually see you, the first thing he says is "You really came." In the Director's Cut, he sounds surprised. He did with both voices in the original, too, but in the Director's Cut it's distinctly more like, 'Why did you actually come here?'
The hug at the door, I think, was his way of testing his theory. And by pushing him away, you reject him on that level, so it confirms his previous thoughts. You're not here to love him, you want nothing to do with him romantically. You're here strictly to "help".
And if he really genuinely believed you'd call the police, enough that he felt the need to test you on it, then that means he was also really hoping he was wrong. About you not showing up, about you not really caring.
