Because even though I love shipping Sonic with characters, and no matter how much joy I find in little moments where Sonic is being close to the character I ship him with

Sonic is one of the few canonically aroace characters out there. One of the few characters in media who is not only happy and content with not being in a romantic relationship, but despises the idea of being in one

Giving him a love interest would be taking away that representation, and would be extremely untrue to his character. no matter how much I love shipping sonadow, I would be very mad if they were actually canon

Cymbeline has more screen time as a brain washed character which is sad cuz I liked Cymbeline even more when she came back to normal, imagine seeing a character under spell treating others like crap but then after the removal of the spell they turn out to be actually a good person like it was spoken about her during the start of the movie.
