Any “controversial” DR takes you have? Not as in extra critical, moreso a prediction that is perhaps a bit unpopular from what you see floating around usually in the fandom. My personal “hot take” predictions I guess is that Susie won’t take the reveal of Kris being partly controlled by the soul and working with the knight nicely and that that whole conflict will resolve itself in less than 5 minutes like that. I feel that way cause I don’t want issues like lying to your friends and working towards a dangerous goal to be just swept under the rug like that, it’d just feel cheap and narratively lazy to me. Same for Noelle finding out about Kris’ involvement with the Roaring Knight gang. And that there’ll be more Weird Route after chapter 5, I don’t think the webpage with 1-5 is indicative of that’s how many chapters the WR will take place in.
weeeeeeellllllll i dont usually like making predictions about future events, i have a few that i havent seen around a lot from other people but theyre not exactly controversial. but if we're doing this, then i might as well bust out this opinion ive been dancing around for a while. it's not really a prediction but it is definitely controversial to some which is why ive been reluctant to directly voice it. (and im not saying that anybody who disagrees is wrong or stupid or needs to change their mind. there are many perspectives on this and im only offering my own and i dont want to talk over anybody. i could very easily be incorrect or we might never know for sure, this is just what i believe is most likely Currently. i also know this isnt a new opinion and a lot of other people have probably said it better and coming from a more personal place.)
i do think the whole mancountry segment points towards kris being amab and i think that's important to their character. no that wouldnt make kris more "masculine" or change anything about their actual gender at all, obviously, but unless a setting establishes that our world's enforced gender binary is not the norm, a nonbinary person is still probably transitioning away from something and that does matter to their experience. a nonbinary person can still experience dysphoria and have a complex relationship with their assigned birth gender. i dont think deltarune world's perception of gender is necessarily the same as ours, in fact i think it's likely monsters and humans have different cultural views on the whole thing. hometown in particular is "pretty tolerant". but just because nobody around kris is actively misgendering or threatening them, doesnt mean they arent affected by any kind of transphobia. i understand wanting a world where that bigotry doesnt exist, and i couldve believed that this might be that world, where nonbinary is just a thing a human can always be, or even considered a "default", before chapter 3. but not after mancountry.
(there are other interpretations of what mancountry means- that it simply refers to the man behind the tree, or to "man" as a species meaning humans. those could be the case.... but when i look at the game on the whole, the usage of the word "man" in different contexts, the specific phrasing of "it's a man's world!" and "non-men are A-OK too", and the fact that this is something very personal to kris, i personally just cant see any possibility that this egg room isnt about being trans.)
When I was younger I made a deliberately bad undertale oc to ragebait and so many people fell for it I had loads of comments telling me I was cringe and should die, and some long paragraphs of criticism. Kind of fascinating because not only is it so obviously fake, but I also have no idea why people were so mad like why did people act like this was some horrible crime to commit

i like characters who feel like nothing. they have no desires or needs, trust them on that. they just want to help others and do nothing for themself. i like characters who are very convinced that they are nothing, inferior, worse compared to the people around them. i like characters who have decided the best thing they can do for others is to give away everything they have and save nothing for themself. characters who have very little autonomy, characters who try to have no personal opinions. characters that are totally fine with being smothered and talked over. characters that look to others for decisions, characters that need others to tell them what to do. as long as other people are happy, you know?

The most obsession inducing trait a character can have for me is knowing somewhere in their heart That They Are A Bad Kid
This isn't necessarily literal. It can apply to characters who aren't children too. But there's something about characters who are either certain of the fact, or terrified of the possibility, that they are just fundamentally wrong and bad at their core
It is also important to me that it is not true. No one is fundamentally broken and evil.
