Glow Up Guide [Yui Komori]
APPEARANCE
list of the things we are focusing on:
◦ weight loss
◦ skincare
◦ soft girl aesthetic (clothes, make-up, hair)
W̳E̳I̳G̳H̳T̳ ̳L̳O̳S̳S̳: Yui, as implied in the anime a lot of times, is a very skinny girl. That's why Ayato also makes fun of her for her flat chest. So if you want to glow up like Yui Komori, the first step would be weight loss (if you want or need one).
—She weights 45kg (99lbs) and her height is 1.58cm (5'1 feet). So she weights 13kg (28lbs) lower than her height. That's how we calculate our BMI and find the perfect weight for us. If you want to gain similar body propotions to hers, then you have to be 13kg (28Ibs) down from your height as well.
ex. 1.75cm (5'7 feet) has to weight 62kg (136Ibs) to have a body like Yui Komori's.
!BE CAREFULL! Her body may be in a healthy BMI rage, however she is still considered underweight.
!ALSO! Asians tend to have more body fat than other races which results for their "normal weight" to be way lower than what "normal weight" is considered in other places. That's why if you are not Asian, you may want to add to that number, ex. from 13kg (28Ibs) make it around 10-8kg (22-17Ibs).

𝓢𝓸𝓶𝓮 𝓓𝓲𝓮𝓽 𝓣𝓲𝓹𝓼 𝓫𝔂 𝓨𝓾𝓲 𝓚𝓸𝓶𝓸𝓻𝓲:
Yui loves cooking and it's safe to assume she cooks her every meal. Reduce junk food and instead do what Yui does and eat only homemade meals.
Drink a lot of water. Each day make sure to drink at least 2L of water and track your progress maybe on an app or something.
Move every day and walk a lot! Walking is the best exercise to make you loose weight. Take it easy and start with 5k steps every day and then add till you can walk 10k steps a day. Again download a step tracker for help.
Make olive oil your main source of fat. I see so many people avoiding it like it is something bad while it's very benefitical just in a small portion.
Talking about portions, reduce your meals' portions. Eating whatever you want just in a small portion is the best tip for quick weight loss.
If you want to take it a step further, exercise 3x a week for a toned body. You can do one day of upper body (arms, abs), one day of lower body (booty, legs) and one day of small waist workout for quicker results.
If you feel like eating a sweet or something unhealthy with loads of calories, eat it in the morning. Even if you don't move at all you are going to burn everything you ate in the morning.

𝓡𝓮𝓬𝓸𝓶𝓶𝓮𝓷𝓭𝓮𝓭 𝓓𝓲𝓮𝓽 𝓟𝓵𝓪𝓷:
—We are focusing on soft, light and warm foods/drinks that reflect Yui's sweet and gentle spirit. Simple foods but beautifully plated portions.
Breakfast: banana pancakes, greek yogurt bowl (with fruits or nuts), avocado toast, veggie omelette, overnight oats.
Mid-Morning Snack: fruits, (green) tea, lemon water, coffee.
Lunch: chicken/beef/fish with pasta/rice/sweet potato and salad, risotto, tortilla wrap, noodles, japanese lunch boxes.
Sweet Treat: a piece of chocolate, mochi, one tiny donut, tiny fruit tart.
Afternoon Snack: fruits, (green) tea, lemon water, rice crackers, cucumber slices, a protein bar.
Dinner: same as lunch, miso/veggie/chicken/fish/tomato soup.
S̳K̳I̳N̳C̳A̳R̳E̳: Yui may be shamed by Ayato for her flat chest but none can shame her for her pretty face. Enhanching your natural face requaires make-up and the perfect canvas for make-up is a clear skin.
—We see on tik tok and other social media platforms girls having 11-steps skincare and influencing their viewers that this is the only possible way to get clear skin. Well, this is a MYTH.
—You literally only need 3 steps to establish a good skincare routine and have a "mochi skin" (as clear skin is called in j-beauty). A basic routine of a teenager girl is consisted of:
𝓜𝓸𝓻𝓷𝓲𝓷𝓰:
Cleanser
Moisturizer
Sun screen
𝓝𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓽:
Make-up remover: ex. oil cleanser, micellar water, etc.
Cleanser
(Acne treatment)
Moisturizer
!DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON PRODUCTS RECOMMENED ON TIK TOK! Literally half of the influencers you see recommending them may not even like them or have tried them. It's better to visit a dermatologist if you have skin problems like acne, than trying random products that may make your acne worst.

M̳A̳K̳E̳-̳U̳P̳: Yui Komori appears soft and innocent. Her make-up is natural but at the same time enchanches her features. She follows the make-up most Japanese girls do and it is called "Igari Make-up".
𝓣𝓲𝓹𝓼 𝓸𝓷 𝓯𝓸𝓵𝓵𝓸𝔀𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓼 𝓶𝓪𝓴𝓮-𝓾𝓹:
Before starting with make-up you have to do your skincare. You don't need a lot of things, just a moisturizer (and a toner if you want). Remember to let them be absorbed for at least five minutes each.
For the base choose a lightweight foundation, or a BB cream, or a coloured sunscreen (this is what I use as well). If you have any blemishes you want to cover up then use a concealer lighter than your shade of course. Lastly, choose a blush with a pink undertone and apply on the apples of your cheeks. Cream blush works the best for a glowly finish.
For the eyes choose soft pastel shades like light pink, levander and peach. Apply it on your eye lids and with a touch of shimmer in the inner corners it will brighten the eyes. For the eyeliner go with a brown one for a soft look and do a tiny wing. Curl your eyelashes and put a thin layer of mascara. The last and most important thing is aegyo sal. I can't explain it here so I suggest you to look up tutorials.
For the lips, a soft pink or peach lip tint will keep things subtle and youthful. You can also opt for a clear or light pink gloss for a plump, natural look. The focus is on a natural pout.
—Again, it's better to look up for a tutorial on igari make-up if you are a begginer on make-up and specifically japanese-style make-up. Here are the ones I suggest: 1st video, 2nd video
H̳A̳I̳R̳: The overall vibe of Yui's hair is to enhance her natural and youthful appearance. We want to achieve soft movement and healthy shine, along with some simple but feminine hairstyles.
𝓦𝓱𝓪𝓽 𝓱𝓪𝓲𝓻𝓬𝓾𝓽 𝓽𝓸 𝓪𝓼𝓴 𝓯𝓸𝓻:
—The most important thing to do if you want to achieve that soft movement and natural volume Yui's hair have is to ask for the right haircut. We don't care about the length, short or long, you can do whatever you want. What we care about is:
• Light layers (not choppy or too sharp)
• Soft face framing pieces
• Optional: wispy bangs or curtains bangs
—However first check if this haircut suits your face shape. The ones that are safe are people with oval, heart-shaped and square face shape. The ones that need a slight adjustment are round faces and long faces.
• If you have a round face make sure to get: long layers starting below the chin, long curtain bangs, keep volume lower and not at the cheeks.
• If you have a long face make sure to get: full or curtain bangs, add volume at the sides, prefer a shorter length (ex. mid-chest).
𝓨𝓾𝓲'𝓼 𝓱𝓪𝓲𝓻𝓬𝓪𝓻𝓮 𝓻𝓸𝓾𝓽𝓲𝓷𝓮:
—Again it depends on your hair porosity. If you have damaged hair then you most likely have high porosity hair and need a lot of treatments and products to soften them. If you have very healthy hair then you have low porosity hair. Now if you are in between you have medium porosity hair.
• Routine for high porosity hair: shampoo 3x a week, conditioner every wash, deep hair mask 1x or 2x a week (this is a must), leave-in mask and oil to seal it 1x a week. Avoid heat at all costs!
• Routine for medium porosity hair: shampoo 3x a week, conditioner every wash, hair mask 1x a week, serum (optional in case you need help with frizz), lightweight hair oil in little amounts (1 or 2 drops). Use heat protection before styling!
• Routine for low porosity hair: shampoo 3x a week, a clarifying shampoo for buil-up 1x a month, light conditioner every wash, hair mask 1x a week (better results if you wrap a warm towel on your head after applying and leave it for 15 minutes), hair oil (1 drop max). Avoid heavy formulas, heavy butters and silicones!
—Now there are other things to consider when making a hair routine, like the thickness of the hair, your hair concern (oily scalp, dry & frizzy, damaged) and your hair type (straight, wavy, curly) but hair porosity is the main category we should base our routine.
