raph has absolutely no patience for most people. if someone annoys him, they get a glare, a sarcastic comment, or they get ignored completely.
then you walk into the room and his entire expression melts without him even realizing it, his voice dropping into the gentlest tone anyone has ever heard him use.
the others never stop making fun of him because it’s honestly embarrassing to watch. one second he’s threatening to throw mikey across the lair, the next you’re asking him if he slept well and he’s quietly mumbling “yeah… slept better after you texted me goodnight.”
he pretends he hates physical affection in front of everyone else, acting like hugs are annoying.
with you, though, he’s practically attached at the hip, always finding some excuse to keep a hand on your waist, your shoulder, or to pull you into his lap whenever you’re nearby.
if someone is rude to you, they’re lucky if leo gets to them first. raph takes it personally every single time, his protective instincts kicking in immediately, but the second you place your hand on his arm and tell him it’s okay, he takes a deep breath because your voice somehow calms him faster than anything else.
you see a side of him nobody else really gets to. he talks quieter with you, smiles more, laughs without trying to hide it, and even lets himself be vulnerable.
sometimes he’ll just lay his head against your shoulder without saying anything, happy to exist beside you.
whenever you’re tired, he becomes ridiculously attentive: he wraps a blanket around you if you’re cold, carries you if your feet hurt, brushes your hair away from your face, and keeps asking if you’ve eaten enough even though he’s the one who usually forgets meals.
his brothers swear he’s been replaced by an imposter: they’ll watch him grumble at them all morning, then hear you call his name from across the lair and suddenly he’s answering with the softest “yeah, sweetheart?” imaginable.
despite looking intimidating, raph absolutely loves when you play with him. tracing circles on his arms, scratching lightly along his shell, rubbing his cheeks, or absentmindedly running your fingers over his head has him practically melting into your touch while pretending he’s “just comfortable.”
arguments between the two of you never last very long because he genuinely hates upsetting you. he’s stubborn, sure, but the second he notices tears in your eyes or hears your voice crack, all the anger disappears and all he wants is to hold you close until you’re smiling again.
every night before patrol, he always finds you first. no matter how rushed things are, he gives you a forehead kiss, rests his forehead against yours for a second, and quietly reminds you to stay safe while he’s gone.
then, after acting like the toughest guy in new york all night, the first thing he wants when he gets back is to curl up beside you and let you play with his hands until he falls asleep.
You know whats actually kind of funny to think about.

He has enhanced strength, super speed, shape shifting, was able to fly fast enough to catch a commercial Airline plane AS A BAT IN THE SUN!
He is able to freeze time for as long as he wants, and can control the area of effect with the time freeze, even if its just specific people, monsters (though if its area of effect, fully realized vampires like Mavis have a resistance to it). He has PERFECT hypnosis abilities, able to completely mind control someone. He has an enhanced healing factor as long as he is in the dark. Telekinesis and immense durability. Garlic and Sunlight CANT kill him. Only giving him sunburn or just bad gas.
Dracula is arguably one of the strongest versions of the character in fiction. He is legit a threat.

"If she gets hurt, she dies, she catches a fever, she gets taken out by a walker, she gets hit by lightning, anything. Anything happens to her and I'll kill you."
I immediately thought of Bayverse Leo because he would be protective asffffff
⭑Summary: Casey is left in charge of protecting you while Leonardo has to handle more urgent threats across the city..
The city felt raw and wrong.
Not in the usual way New York did when something bad was brewing beneath the surface—not in the way it hummed with distant sirens, flashing lights, and the constant pulse of millions of lives moving around one another—but in a way that made the air itself feel heavier, thicker, as if the night knew something terrible was waiting around the corner.
The mission briefing had been quick. That alone had been enough to put Leo on edge.
There had been reports of Foot activity across multiple locations throughout the city, enough to force all of you to split up, and while Leo knew it was the smartest tactical decision, he hated every second of it.
He hated leaving his brothers. He hated not being able to oversee every moving piece himself.
But most of all—He hated leaving you..
The apartment was dimly lit, shadows stretching across the walls while the glow from the city spilled through the windows. Somewhere below, traffic crawled through the streets, oblivious to the fact that yet another battle for New York was about to unfold before sunrise.
You stood near the kitchen island, arms crossed loosely over your chest. Trying to look calm, even confident. An attempt to make this easier for him.
Leo saw right through it. He always had.
Because the truth was, you were scared.
And the truth was—
So was he..
His fingers flexed around the hilts of his katanas as he stared out the window for what had to be the tenth time in the last five minutes.
Casey leaned against the front door, his scuffed hockey mask hanging from two fingers while he watched the anxious turtle pace.
"You know," Casey finally said, breaking the silence, "at some point you actually gotta leave."
Leo didn't answer. Didn't even bother to look at him. His eyes remained fixed on the city skyline. The silence ached among you. .
Casey sighed.
"Leo-"
"I know."
His voice came out rough. Like every word was being forced through clenched teeth. Because he did know. The others were already waiting on him.
Donatello had probably called three times by now. Raphael was likely getting impatient. Mikey was most definitely getting impatient.
They needed him.
The city needed him.
But every instinct inside him screamed at the thought of walking away from you tonight.
His gaze finally shifted.
Found yours immediately..
Of course it did. It always did.
For a moment the noise of his crowded mind disappeared completely.
There was only you, standing there beneath Casey’s apartment lights.
Alive and safe. For now..
The thought settled heavily in his chest. Because safe wasn't permanent.
God, He knew that by now.
Safe could change in an instant. One wrong turn. One missed call. One person in the wrong place at the wrong time. Leo knew better than most how quickly everything could be taken away.
His jaw tightened. Then he looked toward Casey.
The shift was immediate. The softness disappeared. The worry disappeared. The affection disappeared. What remained was something colder. Something that reminded people why Leonardo was the leader.
Casey straightened his poor posture slightly. Not because he was told to. Because something in Leo's expression demanded it.
Leo crossed the room slowly, stopping directly in front of him.
"Casey, While she's with you,"
Leo held his gaze for several long seconds. Long enough that the apartment seemed to grow quieter around them. Long enough that even you felt your stomach tighten from where you stood.
Then Leo spoke,
"If she gets hurt, if she dies, if she catches a fever, if the Foot gets their hands on her, if she gets hit by lightning, anything...."
His voice never rose. That somehow made it worse. More serious.
There was no shouting. No dramatic anger. Just absolute certainty.
The kind that settled into a person's bones.
"Anything happens to her, and I'll kill you.."
The words landed heavily in the room. Casey stared at him.For a moment nobody said anything. Casey blinked. Unsure if he even that last part right. Leo didn't even react.
Casey looked between Leo and you.
Then back to Leo.
"A fever is on the same level as being taken by the Foot?"
The complete lack of amusement on Leo's face answered the question. Casey's expression slowly changed. The joke died before it could fully leave his mouth. Because beneath the threat, beneath the overprotectiveness and paranoia and ridiculous inclusion of lightning strikes—
There was fear. Raw, genuine fear.
Leo wasn't threatening him because he was angry. No. He was threatening him because he was terrified.
Because there were a thousand things in this city that could hurt the people he loved, and for the next few hours, he wouldn't be there to stop them.
Casey saw it. You saw it too.
The realization made your chest ache.
Slowly, Casey nodded. The humor disappeared from his face.
"You have my word. Nothing's gonna happen to her."
Leo's eyes didn't leave his. Then, finally, he looked at you.
The hardness in his expression cracked instantly.
Like it had never been there at all.
He crossed the room toward you before he could stop himself. Until he was standing in front of you.
His hand found yours. Large fingers curling around your own. Holding on for just a second longer than he should have. As if some small part of him was trying to memorize the feeling.
Just in case.
"You'll be okay," you whispered.
Leo laughed softly.
A quiet, bitter, humorless sound.
Not because he disagreed. Because he wanted so badly to believe you. His heavy thumb brushed across your knuckles. Then he leaned forward, pressing his forehead gently against yours. The gesture was brief.
Tender.
The kind of affection he rarely allowed himself when other people were watching.
When he finally pulled away, his eyes lingered on yours for a moment longer. Like leaving was physically painful. Like every instinct in his body was fighting against it.
Then, with visible effort, he finally stepped back.
The leader returned. The soldier returned. The protector returned..
But the fear never fully left his eyes.
"Lock the door after I leave.."
You smiled.
"We always do."
Casey groaned loudly from across the room. Dramatic.
"Leo, either say goodbye or go save the city. Standing here isn't helping anyone."
Leo shot him a glare powerful enough to silence him instantly. Then, after one final look at you, he disappeared through the apartment door.
The room felt emptier the second he was gone.
And as Casey locked the deadbolt behind him, he found himself staring at the door for a moment before shaking his head.
Because after seeing the look in Leo's eyes—He was worried about what would happen if Leonardo ever lost the one person he couldn't bear to lose.
And judging by that threat— Nobody in New York would survive the aftermath...

The lair was still half-dim when Raphael opened one eye, the kind of gray-blue morning light barely reaching down into the underground hideout.
Everything was quiet in that rare, soft way it only ever got in the early hours, when even Mikey was too asleep to be noisy and Donnie’s lab had gone still for once. Raph lay stretched out on his bed, one arm behind his head, the other draped loosely over your waist where you were curled up against him beneath the blankets.
You’d come over late the night before, exhausted in that sweet, sleepy way that made him look at you a little longer than he meant to, and somewhere between a few quiet words and a quick mumbled goodnight, you’d ended up tucked against his side like you belonged there.
Which, in his opinion, you kind of did.
He blinked at the clock. Then blinked again.
No alarm. You forgot to set your alarm.
His brow furrowed. He waited for the shrill buzz he was expecting, or the sound of you fumbling for your phone, or even a sleepy apology from the other side of the blanket.
Nothing. Just the low hum of the lair, the faint drip of water somewhere deeper in the tunnels, and your slow, even breathing against his plastron.
For a second, he just stared at the ceiling, then looked down at you, expression flattening into disbelief. You were still completely out, face relaxed, hair a mess across the pillow, one hand curled into the fabric of his blanket as if you’d been holding onto it in your sleep. Raph huffed a quiet breath through his nose and shifted carefully, trying not to jostle you too hard.
“Hey,” he muttered, voice rough with sleep. “Ya gotta wake up.”
You made the tiniest sound in response, something between a whine and a groan, but you didn’t open your eyes. He leaned a little closer, the edge of his mouth twitching despite himself. “C’mon. It’s mornin’.” His hand gave your shoulder a gentle nudge, firm enough to try again but soft enough to keep from startling you.
That earned him a frown from your half-asleep face, your nose scrunching before you burrowed deeper into the blankets with a little miserable noise.
“Nooo,” you mumbled, words thick and slurred with sleep. “Don’t wanna.”
Raph froze for half a second, then snorted under his breath.
“Yea? That so?” He tried to sound amused and unimpressed, tried to make it sound like he expected you to get up any second, but there was already a softness creeping into his voice that he couldn’t quite hide.
You cracked one eye open just enough to squint at him, your entire face slack with exhaustion. There was no real annoyance in it, just that deeply offended, deeply sleepy refusal that only made sense when somebody was being asked to do something unreasonable at an unreasonable hour. “No,” you mumbled again, dragging the word out like it physically hurt. “I don’t wanna.”
“Ya gotta get up sometime,” he said, though even he didn’t sound convincing anymore. He watched you try to negotiate with consciousness for a few seconds, your mouth pressing into a pout before you let out another helpless little whine and tugged the blanket closer around yourself. Raph was about to try one last time when you shifted closer instead, pressing your face back into his plastorn and wrapping both arms around him like the decision had already been made for you.
“Five more minutes,” you murmured, voice vanishing into the fabric against him.
Raph let out a quiet, amused grunt. “You always say that, but then ya don’t get up...”
You went still. “…Do I?”
“Yeah, sweetheart,” he said, and now there was a full smile tugging at the corner of his mouth, like he couldn’t help it. “You do.”
There was a long pause, followed by the most reluctant, sleepy little, “...Well, I promise I mean it this time.”
And just like that, you were gone again.
Raphael stared down at you, one brow lifting as your breathing evened back out almost immediately, your body completely surrendering to sleep as if the whole conversation had been a dream. For a moment, he just looked at you in quiet disbelief, like he couldn’t decide whether to laugh or be impressed by how fast you’d gone back under.
Then he exhaled through his nose, the sound half a chuckle and half a sigh, and all the stubbornness left his shoulders at once.
“Unbelievable,” he muttered, though there was no real bite in it. He reached for the blanket with care, tugging it higher over your back and shoulders until you were tucked in properly again. You responded instantly, making a small content sound and curling tighter into him, your fingers loosening only enough to slide sleepily against his arm.
He looked down at you for another second, the warmth of you settled into his space, and his expression softened in that quiet, private way he never showed around anyone else. Raphael brushed a few stray hairs off your forehead with the back of his hand, clumsy but gentle, and leaned down just enough to press a brief kiss there. “Sleep, then,” he rumbled softly, like a promise and a surrender all at once. “I’ll deal with the rest later.”
You didn’t answer, not really, but the corner of your mouth twitched like you’d heard him anyway. Raphael stayed where he was a while longer, one arm snug around you as he settled back against the pillows and let the morning stretch out around the two of you.
For once, there was nowhere else he needed to be. No rush, no noise, no brothers shouting in the hallway.
Just you, warm and half-buried under the blankets, and him, quietly deciding that if this was how mornings looked with you here, then maybe being late wasn’t such a terrible thing after all.
