The Right Life ~ Chapter 1

“I still get nightmares. In fact, I get them so often I should be used to them by now. I'm not. No one ever really gets used to nightmares.” ― Mark Z. Danielewski, House of Leaves

She could feel herself falling, time was running out. There was no light only darkness.

She awoke screaming.

"It's just a dream. It's not real." She thought aloud.

But it seemed real. The nightmares were worse lately, darker and more sinister, if that was even possible.

Sitting up he long thick hair tumbled down her back. Her face was wet, she hadn't even noticed that she was crying. She stumbled out of her room into the bathroom her and her mother shared. She could hear her mothers soft breaths, she was glad she didn't wake her, she needed her sleep.

As quietly as she could she turned the bathroom light on. She grabbed a damp cold cloth and held it to her burning skin. If she wasn't careful she was going to make herself ill.

Great that's just what she needed. To be ill on the first day back of term. Ugh why was life so hard.

So this is my first go at writing a story! Hope you enjoy it!
