Douxie could hear the clinking of glass all the way from the downstairs level of the bookstore. 

“What on earth are they doing up there-”

He peered slightly up at the balcony level and to where the bookstore led to his apartment, as if he’d be able to see what was going on up there from where he stood. A customer found their way into GDT Arcane Books, but just as Douxie turned to ask how he could be of service, there was a shattering of glass from upstairs followed by an “Oh. Well that’s not good-” From his roommate.

Scenario: During the early days of camelot and the beginning of Douxie’s apprenticeship, things were getting overwhelming for the young wizard, and during one of the few times he can have a break, Merlin’s granddaughter Y/n, noticed the little freckles he had on his face, admiring them.

A/n: This boy is so unfairly pretty-

(Also, not proofread, I wrote this in the middle of the night)

3rd Person POV: 

It was another busy day for Douxie, with running through and around the castle in order to finish all the tasks that had Merlin assigned to him, wanting to fulfill them so Merlin would be able to teach him some lessons in magic, with his hopes to be a master wizard-, but he was getting ahead of himself. 

He’s been running himself through with the tasks (chores-) that he’s been given, and studying the lessons and books that Merlin gave him. While trying to prove himself to the older wizard, he’s been overwhelmed with everything he’s been given. 

But, there was always someone who kept him from spreading himself too thin, (Y/n), his master’s granddaughter, and someone who has tried to distance herself from her grandfather’s methods and ideology, seeing them as unnecessarily cold and distant. And, she was a breath of fresh air for the young wizard, just someone he can be in company with and breathe comfortably, and she was a good teacher as well when he needed help. Going from nervous apprentice to relaxed (and slightly confident) around her.

And he helped her too, for someone who was overshadowed by her grandfather and isolated herself as a result of it, Douxie was company that gave her what she needed. But with starting on a slightly rocky foot between them, purely ‘cause Douxie slightly fanboyed over her being related to Merlin, he made up for it by wanting to learn more about her before he went to sleep each night, evenings being their time. 

Y/n’s POV

I was in the library for most of the day, keeping away from my grandfather, Morgana, and Arthur, not wanting to hear any sort of bickering from any of them before it gave me a headache. Focusing on the pages of some random book from the shelves, the sound of a chair scraping and light groan from beside me paused my reading. 

“So, lessons went well today I’m guessing?” My teasing received a light huff from beside me, “More like a repeated lesson.” He groaned, his forehead laying on the table, “I still need to work on my magic not turning against me.” 

I put a bookmark on my page before running my fingers through his hair, “Still have no complete control?” He nodded against the table before moving his head to look at me. 

“It keeps turning against me.” I snorted a little at that, earning a small pout from Douxie, “You’re supposed to be on my side.” His hand lightly pinched my side, causing me to jerk a little. 

“Not after that.” I teased, running circles against his temple, resulting in him lightly humming before closing his eyes, the moonlight from outside hitting his skin. 

We stayed in this position for a little, his hand resting on my shoulder, lightly playing with fabric there.

“Want my help when you have free time?” It was his turn to snort a bit, “With what tasks Merlin gives me? Why not help me now?” He opened his eyes to look at me.

“You look tired.” I tucked some hair behind his ear, laying my head on my arms as I rested them on the table, and he just hummed as a response. “Fair enough.” He closed his eyes again. 

We just stayed here, Douxie breathing slowly, his eyes closed but not asleep, and I just kept looking at his face, noting the small eyebags under his eyes. I'm definitely going to tell my grandfather to calm down on the tasks. 

I kept staring at his face, noticing the length of his eyelashes, the way his brows furrowed a little as he rested his features (I stare at this boy too much-), but, this peaceful expression of his was my favorite, calm and gentle. 

And while I was staring at him, I noticed something else on his cheeks, the moonlight laying softly on his features, soft freckles on his face, dotting his face like a gentle snowfall. 

“You’re staring.” He mumbled, opening one of his eyes to look at me, but, without thinking, my fingers lightly traced against his cheeks, his eyes widening a tiny bit, before smiling and chuckling softly. “What?” 

“I never noticed that you had freckles.” I say without thinking, which has been becoming a habit when it’s just us. 

“They’re pretty faint.” His voice is soft now, “Most people don’t notice them.” He lifted his head a little, letting me see more of his face. “Are, they bad?” He mumbled quietly. 

“No, not even in the same realm.” I kept looking at the small decorations on his face, admiring them against his skin, “They’re pretty.” It slips from my mouth, but, my words are true, so why be embarrassed by them, especially with him. 

His cheeks flushed a little, his usual goofy expression shocked, before returning a soft smile at me, “Like what?” God he’s gonna kill me. 

“Depends how you want me to describe them.” I lightly poked his cheek, earning a chuckle from him, “Be, exploratory.” He teased me, earning a chuckle and sigh from me, my hand still on the side of his face, tracing over his freckles. 

“Cheesy it is then.” I joked a little, earning a gentle laugh from him, “That, is my job.” He placed his hand on top of the one on his face, “Says who?” I tease, his hand tightening a little around mine. 

“They’re turning into my favorite constellation.”

soft, almost jazz music. the music notes are blue and the way they move is a bit awkward, as if they’re still trying to find the right melody, but they’re still playing the music in a bold and heroic way

a mix of the sort. a mix between pop punk-ish and rock. the notes are a bit chaotic in a way but in the most beautiful and orchestrated way possible. like an abstract piece of art. the notes are purple, magenta, and royal blue, and they know exactly what they are doing

pure rock and metal in the most poetic way possible. the notes are confident, and they dance and perfect the melody as if it’s been woven into them since they day they came to be. the colors shift, depending on which era it is, but each color is different and beautiful in their own way.

techno, ambient, electronic notes that are cyan blue. their shape is unique and the way the move is unique in a way that has never been done before. it may not be exactly everyone’s cup of tea, but the notes are proudly one of a kind and won’t quiet down to suit anyone else’s taste.

“Come on, Douxie!” You call out to your boyfriend with a playful smile.

“We are going to be late if you don’t hurry!”

“I’m coming!” You heard him yell back with a slight chuckle in his tone.

You were waiting for your fashionably late boyfriend in the doorway of the apartment the two of you shared.

You were kinda curious on why he was taking so long. He doesn’t normally take this long ;especially when it comes to the two of you going on a date.

You were about to say something else when you saw him exit the bedroom with Archie on his shoulder. It was a rather adorable sight actually.

You were always curious on why Archie had glasses but you assumed that it was just a cosmetic and that they weren’t real glasses.

It sounded like he was talking to someone else while he was in there, but you decided to brush it off and not overthink it.

“Are you finally ready?” You asked while prying yourself off of the doorframe you had to wait so long that it felt like you were glued to it.

“Yes I am.” Douxie said before intertwining his fingers with yours. A part of you wanted to pull your hand away as punishment or taking so long, but you also wanted to hold his hand so you let it slide.

“Good, because another two minutes and I would have been walking out by myself.” You said in a joking tone ;even though sometimes it can be difficult to tell when you are joking. You’re glad that he knows you well enough to know when you are joking.

He put his hand on his chest before doing a dramatic gasp. “You would leave us behind just to go and see a movie?” He said with fake shock.

“Yes, especially if you are going to make us late.” You said before giving a him a boop and leading them out the door.

You heard a him chuckle as you continued to take the lead. “You’re lucky you’re cute.” You mumbled quietly.

Archie jumped off of his shoulder so the two of you could leave. You didn’t see this but Archie gave Douxie a quick wink before the door was closed.

You two decided to watch a late night movie so it was already well after dark when the three of you finally left.

There weren’t that many people out right now given how late it already was.

You didn’t really mind it though, you sometimes preferred it to be like this instead of the usual sea of people.

When you the theater was in sight you let go of your lover’s hand so you could grab your wallet.

“I thought we agreed I’d pay.” He said as he watched you go ahead and get some money out.

“I changed my mind when you decided to take three hours to get ready.”

“It was not three hours.” He quickly pointed out.

“It definitely felt like it.” You shot back.

Normally the two of you didn’t care who pays, sometimes you’ll goof and “fight” one another to see who can pay first, but you quit your job recently because of the unbearable amount of stress.

So you both decided that it might be best to let Douxie pay for a little bit more lately, though, you still felt incredibly bad for it.

“I don’t mind.” He said while placing his hand on your back. It was though as if he could read your mind, though your face was clearly giving away how you felt right now.

You felt him give you a soft peck on the forehead, as a way to try and reassure you that he didn’t mind.

You let out a small sigh before putting some of the money back into your wallet. “At least let me pay for the snacks and drinks.” You at least wanted to do that.

Douxie chuckled and nodded. “Alright.” He said before giving you one more peck.

After getting to the theater, you two bought your tickets and some snacks before the movie started.

Since you didn’t get there exactly when you wanted so the ads should have already started playing by now. You’d be surprised if they hadn’t started yet.

When you entered the room where your movie was playing, you were surprised to see no one there. “It looks like we have the place to ourselves!” You say excitedly before going up to the top to choose the seats.

Douxie just laughed as he followed you up to the top of the seats, one of the many things he loved about you is how excited you were about some of the smallest of things. It really did bring a smile to his face every time it happened.

He took his seat next to before you gave him his drink and selected snacks because you refused to let him carry any of it.

“Thanks, love.” He said before opening up a bag already. You always smiled when he referred to you with any kind of name like that. Even though you two have been dating for a while, it still made you feel all bubbly and giddy on the inside. Which is why he’ll continue to do it.

Eventually the movie started to play, it was supposed to be a horror/thriller but so far you both have been disappointed.

It’s only halfway done and the both of you are determined to sit it out until the movie is over. Though that might be difficult with how boring the movie is to you.

Douxie could tell by looking at you, he also was getting quite bored with the movie. An idea then popped into his head that brought a smirk to his face.

He brought of the armrest that was dividing the both of you, you assumed he only wanted to get closer so you scooted as much as could to him.

You felt him place his arm around you so he could pull you against him. You were about to cuddle up to him when you gently grabbed your chin so you could look at him.

The light from the movie illuminated his face enough to show him looking at you with gentle eyes, but you also quickly noticed a mischievous smirk.

He slowly leaned in, slow enough so you could back out if this isn’t what you wanted, but you learning and filling the gap had him smiling even more.

You placed both of your hands on his chest and tilted you head slightly so you could deepen the kiss. You definitely thought this was better then the movie.

You suddenly felt a pair of soft and warm hands being placed on both of your cheeks before you were gently pushed all the way back onto the seats.

Douxie was the first one to part, both of his cheeks flushed with a rosy red and he was panting ever so slightly. Though, you assumed you probably didn’t look any different.

As he got closer, you assumed things were about to get escalate even more, but it surprised you when switched positions so now you were laying on top of him.

You felt yourself starting to smile as you cuddled your head into his chest and you could feel his arms wrapping themselves around you once more.

You had to admit, this was nice.

After the movie was finally over, the two of you grabbed your things and headed straight home.

It was a rather enjoyable walk back, wasn’t too hot out, the two of you goofing off while continuing to work on your drinks and snacks. Just a pleasant time overall.

You were about to unlock the door to your apartment when it sounded like you heard that same voice from earlier. But it was like they were screaming.

Douxie seemed to get worried because he grabbed the keys from your hands and immediately opened the door.

It was a rather unbelievable sight, what used to be a cat is now a furry dragon running away from a strange creature you’ve never seen before.

The only reason why you knew it was Archie is because of the same glasses.

You saw Douxie run in and help deal with the creature while you were still there standing in complete and utter shock.

After everything was dealt with, Douxie came back over to you with a worried look. “Y/n, are you alright?”

“Maybe they just need some time, Douxie.” Archie said.

Well this has definitely been a very interesting night.

summary: still feeling the rush of a performance, douxie takes you backstage, or well, under the stage, to give you a little attention.

warnings: this is def the spiciest thing ive ever written, that being said its not n/s/f/w per se, but uh, makeout, biting, handsy doux, uhhh, yeah

your world was a bright, neon magenta. all the lights were bright, quite literally turning your vision rose colored, and yet it still somehow managed to be dark in this corner under the stage. dark enough to feasibly conceal you and your boyfriend to a certain degree, but you supposed that’s probably why he dragged you down here in the first place.

douxie’s hands gripped your waist. his fingertips dug into your flesh with how tightly he was pulling your bodies together, it almost hurt. his lips were just as rough against yours. a bit sloppy, but you loved that. the feeling of his lips moving in tandem with yours was driving you wild. with an troublesome grin, douxie bit down on your bottom lip and pulled at it gently. cheeky.

you retaliated by separating yourself from his mouth, moving down just below his jaw. douxie could feel your hot breath against the sensitive area and shivered. he felt your nose brush against his neck before he felt the sensation of your tongue. doux let out an adorable squeak as you gently bit down, and you apologized with your tongue as you began sucking the tender skin, surely leaving behind a little purple bruise. you moved further downward to right above his collarbone, making sure to drag your teeth along his flesh. douxie was vocal in his appreciation.

the music was so loud. but that was good. it concealed the embarrassing noises. but lucky lucky you, you’re close enough to still hear every sound that left his throat. you moved back up to meet his lips, stifling it in the moment.

your lips pressed firmly against his, but that wouldn’t do at all. you snaked your hand up to drag you fingers through his scalp, in turn dragging out a guttural moan from douxie’s lips. which gave you the opportunity to slip your tongue past his teeth. your noses were squishing a little too close together, so douxie tipped his face in adjustment ever so slightly, before meeting your tongue with his. he tasted like mint, as he slid his tongue over yours. hmmm, he must have popped one in his mouth before his gig. don’t want to coat a mic in bad breath. douxie let you push your way into his mouth, letting you think you’d won, before he started sucking on your tongue. your grip on his hair tightened. and as much as you both enjoyed this, you were out of air.

as you both reluctantly pulled away, gasping for air, your breaths mingled and you noticed some fog. the music had changed, some stomping here and there, the next gig had started. but the magenta lighting was there to stay it seemed. no matter. the fog added to the atmosphere. not that you two even acknowledged any of it, you were too wrapped up in each other. douxie took a few steps backwards, confusing you at first, until he sat down on a large unused amp (a speaker? you weren’t too sure nor did you care). doux beckoned you back to him, and as you obeyed, he took you by the arm before pulling you into his lap. you got comfortable straddling him and wasted no time as you began snogging once again.

you never actually intended for it to get this heated. at least not why you where still here, backstage after a gig, while his friends where still around, waiting up for him. you couldn’t help it. douxie just looked so pretty. all cleaned up for the performance. well, clean wasn’t the word. sexy? the point is no one can blame you for taking your sweet time when an incredibly hot punk rocker pulled you into a semi-private space for the express purpose of kissing you. you.

he smelled the cologne his bandmate sprayed on him earlier. douxie wasn’t one for stuff like that, but his friend had insisted he “smell like a rockstar” as they put it. you weren’t minding that at all though. you thought douxie always smelled like a rockstar, just by virtue of it was him. he disagreed, thinking you thought a little too highly of him.

but that post-gig adrenaline high had gotten into the rocker, if it wasn’t evident by now. douxie was dripping in confidence. which had made him a little bold, as repeatedly captured your lips with his. his hands roamed down your sides, over your ribs and your waist, before giving your ass a squeeze. you were a little surprised at this, douxie rarely got this handsy, but it was a welcome surprise.

your lips moved together like a delicate dance, fluid and practiced. not always graceful, but immensely beautiful. douxie’s touch was the most familiar thing to you. you couldn’t get enough of it. your saliva mingled with his, your lungs breathed in his air. you could stay like this forever. unfortunately, forever was cut short as doux broke the kiss.

but he wasn’t done by any means. doux returned the favor from earlier, leaving a mark on your pretty neck. you didn’t think he’d let you leave here without one did you. you let out a little moan as he nipped at the flesh. a grin spread across douxie’s face. he looked up at you, hazel eyes sparkling. you flushed, as if you hadn’t just spent all this time stuffing your tongues down each other’s throats. you averted your gaze, tracing the tattoos on his shoulders. a shiver ran down douxie’s spine. he took a deep breath.

“darling?”

you nodded to him.

“there’s something i wanted to tell you tonight.”

normally words like that would provoke anxiety, but you had a good feeling about this. “yeah?”

“i— i love you.”

your eyes were saucers. you? he loves you? how in deya’s grace did you get so lucky. how did you pull this off??

douxie didn’t take your lack of response too well, “i— uh, don’t worry, you don’t have to say it back,, if, you’re not ready... or—“

“i love you too.” you cut him off.

“hisirdoux casperan i love you too.”

douxie’s face lit up like christmas. “you do?”

“i do.” the grin on your face hurt.

bzzz bzzz douxie’s back pocket interrupted. he grumbled as he checked the phone. it was his bandmates, wondering where the hell he was. his brows scrunched together in annoyance. it was so cute.

“ah, it looks like we’ve got to go back and join the others, my love.”

you giggled at the emphasis he put on that new pet name. new butterflies joined the ones already in residence in your stomach. you could get used to that.

“awww, but i was having so much fun.” you teased.

you left the venue, away from the light. but you still felt magenta.

What your headcanons about Douxie?

Ohhh don't think I've gotten an ask about Douxie HC's before!

Here's some:

Douxie was found by Archie as a small kid and practically raised by the dragon until Merlin took them in.

Douxie’s speciality magic wise isn't fire, as a lot of people HC, its music. That's how he channels his most powerful spells and is also why his staff takes the form of a electric guitar. Because music is life and change, and that's what Douxie represents.

Douxie suffers from anxiety and depression and Archie is pretty much his therapy cat-dragon. Merlin made his anxiety worse, and it took centuries to rebuild his self esteem sufficiently after Merlin was gone.

Morgana was like an older, slightly aloof, sister, so her betrayal hurt Douxie a LOT more than he put on.

Douxie actually would get along with changelings given half a chance! He's not a racist and absolutely would not support any kind of slurs being thrown around. Strickler is confused why this eternal 19 year-old wizard wants to be friends with him so bad.

Douxie and Jim get along so well because they're both self sacrifical dumbasses.

Douxie likes salty snacks, he doesn't have much of a sweet tooth, more pastries and pies and that sort of stuff.

He really dislikes the heat and sun. Some people like to joke he's a vampire because of it, but its because Douxie gets sunburnt really easily.

He's Irish, (like his VA) not Welsh, but spent so much time in Wales and England that he now sounds just generically British.
