k2so
K2SO didnât understand the significance of death, after all they were only a droid. They knew the meaning of it, but the effect it had on the dead and the living was still a mystery to them. They were able to be reprogrammed and transferred to a new ( though they were still trying to clean out the rust ) model. They had no real reason to fret over themselves, however, they could recall their last moments when they and the two meatbags were under siege on Scarif. It only seemed to be like yesterday yet light years behind them. They remembered the troopers breaking into the control room, searching for them. The smoke from their destruction and chassis. How the world slowed down, allowing them to listen to Cassianâs concerned voice as they destroyed the controls to the room. In their last second, K2 will never forget the simulation of Cassianâs escape. K2âČs only hope that the human escaped and lived a long life. He was the only one who ever treated the droid as an equal to another human.
. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â the droid was alone, busying themselves by scrubbing the inside of their knee joint that they detached from their body. They wouldnât be satisfied until the rust was completely gone. Honestly, humans were such incompetent and fragile beings, no where in his programming did he understand their longevity.
when cassian was brought back, he never expected to see his droid again. not that he necessarily expected to see anyone from his past. but as soon as he heard kâs last words...*well*. he hadnât expected to get out alive himself.Â
so when he stepped into a room where he was supposed to be having a meeting to find that same droid right in front of him....
cassians eyes widened at the droid heâd know most of his life. theyâd saved each other in a way before... or at least k2 had saved cassian when he was young. taking steps forward, he furrowed his eyebrows some. they had found that same model used before-- the model that was now years old.Â
not that it really mattered. all he hoped was the droidâs ...unique... personality stuck through reprogramming. âk?â he questioned when he finally made his way in front of the droid.Â
