he hadnāt expected to see jyn erso again. noāā after the situation was explained, he expected to be thrown back into the fight, no explanation past a quick briefing. but now that he saw her? of course they would bring jyn back. she had been the reason they got the death star plans⦠and from what he could tell, the resistance was made of soldiers like her.
that being said he was still in shock.
why hadnāt they told him that she was here to? they could have met up, it could have made everything easier to adjust⦠although from the look on her face, it seems that she was left in the dark much like he had been.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā what was their goal here?
they must have known that they would find each other at some point.
as jyn ran over, he met her hallway,  still in shock that she was here- not the memory from before but⦠here. he let out a small breath, not quite sure what to say. where did they stand now? now⦠that they were both here.
for once, he let his body move on itās own,and pulled jyn towards her into an embrace to make sure she was actually real.
It was him. It was. She knew that now.
Of course it had been difficult to accept, standing across the room. He looked just as he did when sheād last seen him. A little less battle worn, but the same. He looked just as he did in her dreams.
Sheād been dreaming such a long time. How could she fathom being awake?
But it was him. Cassian. There was no mistaking it now, or convincing herself he was a mirage- merely the foolish longing of a little girl not nearly hardened enough by war after all.
Cassian Andor held her close now, and she could fight back the tears no longer. She said nothing, just sobbed against him. Holding him so tightly, he couldnāt possibly fade away into nothing.Ā
Not again.
