I'm a 24 year old photographer in the St. Louis area putting my name and work out in the world. A former student at the Kansas City Art Institute, I'm constantly updating my portfolio and adding new images into the mix. Half of my work is inspired by the decaying buildings around me, of the way that nature slowly overtakes what once was hers. The other half is more focused on the city of New Orleans and the areas surrounding it - my love for this place is constantly growing and evolving the more I visit there. Gas Chamber | May 2016, Missouri State Penitentiary, Jefferson City, MO

Seen in this photoset: Holding cell for the gas chamber (first 2 photos). Gas chamber (3rd and 4th photos) - This was, hands down, the most unsettling experience of the trip. The whole room had an extremely tense aura about it and you could feel all of the people who were previously sentenced to die there. Gas chamber viewing area (last 2 photos).

The Missouri State Penitentiary, was a prison in Jefferson City, Missouri, that operated from 1836-2004. Part of the Missouri Department of Corrections, it served as the state of Missouri’s primary maximum security institution. Before it closed, it was the oldest operating penal facility west of the Mississippi River. It was replaced by the Jefferson City Correctional Center, which opened on September 15, 2004.
