i’ve said it once and i’ll say it again: shipping incest is inherently harmful.

people who are survivors of incest, people who are grossed out by incest, people who have had experiences with incest that they’d rather forget, have the right to want to not see incest at all. they are not being racist, or bigoted, or somehow rude for requesting this.

familial power dynamics are incredibly different than non-familial dynamics, whether they’re platonic or romantic or sexual. people so commonly have bad experiences with incestual relations and they are allowed to not want to see it. 

it is harder to fathom if you are not a survivor because they’re “just fictional characters”, yes, but it grosses people out and makes them uncomfortable. non-survivors are allowed to hate incest, survivors are allowed to hate incest, anyone is allowed to hate incest, because society has taught us that incest is bad and there’s a reason for that. it’s often abusive and it’s often unhealthy and so yeah, let people be grossed out. that’s okay.

this episode threw me for a loop in terms of kara’s characterization, so forgive me if i seem ooc and rusty for a little bit. i’m still figuring things out.

karamatsu generally wasn’t a mad guy. he wasn’t one for fighting. sure, he was strong- but he’d never think of laying a hand on anyone, especially not one of his brothers.

but this was too far. he didn’t understand a lot of people. most of the time, he was in his own world, and he shut out what other people thought. his empathy level was incredibly low. so when osomatsu acted out and kicked jyushimatsu over a piece of sushi, he was especially shocked. he always saw osomatsu as a happy type of guy. he’d seen him mad before, but not this kind of mad. he’d seen him act out like this when he was irritated, but this was different.

the air of the room was hostile. and on choro’s big day? this wasn’t acceptable. he wanted the best for choro. he was self-absorbed and oblivious, but he knew how to act on big days like this, at celebrations. this was an especially big day. choro’s getting a job and leaving the house was something very, very important. not just for choro, but for everybody else in the house, too. 

after the ordeal with osomatsu and jyushimatsu, he did what he felt was the only option to keep the peace. he punched osomatsu and brought him outside by the collar of his shirt, slamming the door behind him. maybe it wasn’t exactly keeping the peace, but he it was the only thing he could think to do.

“ osomatsu, what the fuck?! why do you think you can just go and ruin choromatsu’s big day!?! it’s not all about you, idiot!!! “

  “I’m…. sure.”

  She’s copying him now- and trying her best not to giggle over it.

  “That board game? I haven’t played it since I was a child! Let’s play!” She’s already slid in through the door, slipping her shoes off as she steps inside.

“ give me one second, mon amie. i must go find the game.”

he walked outside the door, trying to look cool and slick. as soon as he exited though, he completely let his cool facade down. he grinned and spoke allowed to himself, voice brimming with glee and accomplishment. he was just a little bit too loud, and his celebration could probably be heard in the other room.

“i did it!!! i knew my charm would get her!!! yes!”

he skipped across the floor to the closet with all the games in it. geez, this closet looked like it hadn’t been touched in years. as soon as he opened it, a musty smell and a cloud of dirt flooded the air. he started coughing, but only for a brief second.

e spent a few minutes looking for the actual game. it was buried deep in the closet. but eventually, he found it. he traced his finger over the top of the box, and it made a clean little trail in the dirt and grime that covered it. he quickly wiped it all off with his hand- he didn’t want to seem like his house was dirty and disgusting, right? if your house is a mess, you’re a mess.

he came back into the room with homura, and set the box down gently on the table and sat down.

“are you ready to play a game with the best game player in the world?” he gave her a cocky smirk.
