The teacher couldn’t help a small smile from creeping onto her normally-stoic face for a few moments, accompanied by a nod. That was what Maria was here at the academy for, after all, right? To get experience in battle and learn as much as possible about other trades and skills.
“I was told that was part of the reason I was hired; from the sounds of it, I don’t have as much experience teaching as some of the other professors, but what I do have is practical experience.” Of course, Jeralt’s suspicions still lingered in her mind, that there had to be some other explanation for her employment at the monastery, but that wasn’t something she needed to concern her newest student with. “I have a feeling you’ll do very well, Maria. I’m looking forward to seeing how you improve.”
“You have more experience than me, so you’re totally qualified to teach me!” Pretty much everyone there had more experience than Maria (students and faculty alike), but y’know what...Let her praise Byleth anyway. She saluted suddenly, standing up straight!
“I’ll work really, really hard from now on! And I’ll try really really hard to wake up for classes tomorrow!” Yeah, that’s the first step, Maria- making it to classes at all. “Do you, um...have any idea how I might wake up easier?”
