Trying to explain the importance of cancer awareness is incredibly frustrating

hey abt your post on feeling bad comparing yourself to heartstopper, i think that's way more normal than it seems. it's such a wholesome show it's hard not to want parts of it for yourself, and since real life isnt really.. like that.. that can be pretty upsetting, and make you feel like you're doing something wrong. but you're not, i promise. things are always easier in fiction than it is for us real people. you can engage with heartstopper however works for you (i, for one, won't be rereading volume 4 anytime soon. seeing them navigate things ive been through so much better than i did hurts quite a bit) or not at all, if that's better for your mental health. but just know you're not alone <3

Ah yes you're the only one who enjoyed the massive international hit that was Heartstopper. Pls chill. It's a wish fulfilment self-insert comfort fic brought to screen. It's supposed to deplete your dopamine reserve for the week. None of this is real life, guys like Charlie crush on guys like Nick but they don't actually get to date them irl, hence Heartstopper's insane popularity.

Having childhood cancer is pretty detrimental on mental health

Surviving is good of course but you become so isolated from peers at school because no one can really relate to it

It’s horrible that you could go through something so awful and completely against your will and still get treated like a hazard

I wish people didn’t get so uncomfortable talking about illness like this

Its like the only people i can be super comfortable with is other cancer survivors

And that is a social nightmare
