steve, what do you do on the really bad days? like... when you don't feel like you're a good enough 'man'. and all the shirtless handsome 'normal' guys just make you feel like shit for even trying even though you want to keep trying. please
“Well, first of all, son, you have to remember — you are a NORMAL GUY. Anybody who treats like you’re less of a man because of the body you’re born in or how you choose to express your gender. I’m sorry you feel like shit; I know dysphoria sucks. I’m pretty happy with my body these days, because I’m in the part of my life where it DID get better and I DO have coping methods that work for me. But, to answer your question, I do still have bad days, and sometimes it leaves me feeling hopeless. But I don’t let myself lose sight of WHO I AM, and how good it makes me feel to fully express that. The bad days never last forever, and it’s ALWAYS worth holding on until things get good again. The best thing I can tell you is to surround yourself with supportive people , people who understand, people going through the same things you are, and people who love you — and, maybe more importantly, cut off the people who make you feel bad or wrong, because they’re never worth the pain they cause you.
“I hope you feel better soon, and if there’s anything I can do for you, let me know and I’d be happy to.”
ooc: i’m sorry i was so slow to reply to this! i’m pretty tired after driving back from toronto, so sorry if this response is lackluster, but i love you and so does steve, and i think things are doing better for you!
