Went to a nature preserve and a vampire ball the weekend. Weather has been consistently over the 100's so I've been getting a lot of use out of the linen fishnets. Been running them under the faucet till shy of dripping and then it'll keep the heat off while walking outside during the day. Could do with a crochet scarf too maybe.
Vampire ball, well that was a funny event. It was held by a known cosplay bar. The bar is known for anime, nerd events, and cosplay and incentivizes costuming. But I did read a line on their post that they would be playing goth music so I was intrigued. Plus free and my partner and I were available. It met the minimum bar for me? Of not playing 80% EBM, but ah. I'm pretty sure it was just someone's spotify playlist after it played 5 bauhaus/peter murphy songs in a row. There wasn't any actual room to dance so we found a small spot that got an annoying amount of foot traffic. And there weren't people really dancing beyond a handful of a few others. But was fun... enough...?
Went to the homies show - past self and deceits for their last show of this tour. Working on picking up guitar too on my off time because the one working their merch table, a friend of mine, has ideas for a queer filipino deathrock band. All of which I'm interested in. But bass position is not available so. Will see where that goes.
Otherwise, hung out with some other friends that were there too, got my favorite overpriced mocktail in the city. Ah and past self played some new songs; I was a little sad to see julian switch to bass synth for the new material - which leans heaaavy into modern darkwave. It was..... alright, but probably bound to be popular in a way. In any case, was fun overall.
