You don't need AI to give you free therapy you need friends you can tell things your parent said to you and then see their horrified reaction that confirms that you were not crazy and that that was fucked up
I feel like people need to understand shaving like they do consent. Women do not choose to shave of their own free will, they are coerced by society and sexism and misogyny. They are coerced by joke portrayals of women with body hair being ugly and unhygienic, they are coerced by men saying they just prefer women who shave, and they are coerced by any other woman who told or shamed them into shaving because “it’s just what women do”. When every aspect of society from people in your own life to incessant razor ads to hairless women in every movie and tv show is telling you to shave, you are being pressured to do that, and you likely wouldn’t come to that conclusion if you weren’t surrounded by all that noise. Millennial men and younger do not feel the same societal pressure to shave their faces, facial hair is a form of fashion and changes amongst individuals. This is not the same with women, and it’s a known fact that women shaving became popular after big razor brands cornered the men’s market and wanted to increase profit. So like. Stop being ignorant and adding the discussion of choice into the discussion when we know it didn’t use to be a choice most women made.
i’ve seen so many wrong takes about radical feminism on twitter today
so many braindead individuals being like “oh radfems believe sex with men is inherently degrading”
when literally no radfem believes sex with men is inherently degrading, nor would any radfem even dare use the word “degraded” to describe a woman or view her as a lesser being for having sex
how much shit can they pull out of their ass?
what went wrong with feminism is that we started including males and started saying shit like “patriarchy hurts men too” does royalty hurt kings? does capitalism hurt billionaires? does white supremacy hate white people??
feminists are discouraged from speaking harshly for fear of aggravating/upsetting men, but male responses to feminist critique end up in a retaliation ("oh, you want equality? go work in the mines/i can hit you then/no holding doors for you missy") because they already view the class of women as an enemy class, something to defeat rather than somebody to collaborate with in order to improve the livelihood of all. and so no amount of gentle begging is going to make them reconsider their actions, because by the virtue of being a woman and speaking up for women you are already considered an enemy presenting a case for an enemy class. why should they listen to you?
As much as I think dark romance is ass I can't stand people trying to equate reading this to watching porn. It's fucking incomparable
perhaps the lion should concern himself before it's too late
I keep seeing posts from people who claim they will be blocking anyone who posts any content from the new Harry Potter show that begins airing in December.
So I wanted to say you’re all being ridiculous. You consume media all the time by actual rapists. You watch movies with actors who have killed people. You read books written by racists and homophobes. All. The. Time. And it is so unimportant to you that half the time, you don’t even know.
This business with JK Rowling is a witch hunt. She follows a different kind of feminism than you do. And sometimes she’s a little rude about it. (But we don’t tone police here.) She has never put hands on anyone. She has started charities with her own money. And she is an outspoken advocate for women experiencing domestic violence.
She has expressed acceptance for LGBT people, yes including trans people. She just does not believe a person can genuinely change their sex, that some ‘inclusive’ terminology dehumanizes women and that sex segregated spaces are necessary to protect women.
There is a reason that JKR is being derided the way she is, and it’s not because she’s the worst person in the world. And if you step back, if you read her words, you’ll see why.
Anyway, keep putting Harry Potter content on my feed.
As you guys know, I’m a Pinterest queen. And I love magazines so I look at a lot of old magazine pages on there and besides some slightly off color diet tips, they’re mostly cool. But then I came across this one
“A furry dog under your arms is adorbs, but a hairy underarm? Not so much! Ditch the stubble and get smooth everywhere.”
It’s not even like “hey if you shave here are the best razors and best shaving creams if you’re interested”. It’s a directive. “Hey if you have even just STUBBLE in your armpit, that’s really fucking weird and gross, shave it and be smooth immediately.” I guess I can understand why many women are deathly afraid of going in public with any amount of body hair, or even stubble. Because we grew up being told that it’s horrible and disgusting to have our bodies exist in their natural state in public.
tcoptp Remus I love you but was it really necessary to start yelling at Sheila less then 5 minutes after she found out her husband died.
