got bored of alchemy story so here's Iron and Copper as Petrichor would draw them
it's fun drawing Petrichor stuff because she overdesigns them in a way I would never do now, which is fun to do once but I would never seriously use as a design because it would tire me out to draw all the time. Real Iron and Copper are nice and simple. also idk maybe Iron grows his hair out by modern times. or Petrichor thought he would look cooler with long hair

final winds Notus and Eurus. Notus is vaguely based on the osprey (because the wind was associated with storms and rain) and Eurus is based on the Egyptian Vulture (because the Roman equivalent was called Vulturnus or Africus)
The Rational world has limited resolution. The highest level of resolution being down to a Planck length, and no further. However fractals are infinitely self-similar. There are no true fractals in the Rational world. Natural (capitalised as the start of a sentence, not referring to the number category) structures often called fractals (eg sunflower heads) are not true fractals, but approximations which break down at high enough resolutions. But when an Irrational Numberbeast has touched the world, things start to seem... different. Slightly off. The patterns are still the same no matter how high the magnification and how high the resolution. Even down to a Planck length, and inexplicably, further than that. The Rational World, when touched by the Irrational, becomes fractal. And the felinoid brain is not equipped to process this. (as a side note: although Rational, fractional numberbeasts can have similar effects depending on how many numbers are behind the decimal point. If the number of digits behind the decimal point is infinite they will do the same things to the world as Irrationals, though not as potently. eg 1/7)
'Fractal Vision' is a term I am giving to an illness that occurs when people have been in contact with the Irrational for prolonged periods of time. They permanently see the world as Fractal, and this has negative effects on them psychologically and physically. It starts with headaches, dizziness, struggling to concentrate on things, and hallucinations, and in the late stages loss of memory and cognitive functions. The Logarithm Operator has Fractal Vision due to the e in his calculator. I believe every Operator will end up having it to some extent (the RithOps to more extent than SetOps as the SetOps don't have to be in close contact for their powers to work), and I believe Huxley has it to a smaller extent due to it using its own power to divide a Numberbeast by 7 (see note above. I know fractional numbers aren't irrational.) You know what, Rational Numberbeasts themselves can have it too. Echo definitely has it.

back on the subject of Galen's temperaments, I have come up with names for the temperaments which were intermediate between the humours (ie purely hot/cold/wet/dry instead of a combination)
Calid - hot (fire/air) Frigid - cold (earth/water) Humid - wet (water/air) Arid - dry (earth/fire)
the actual personalities themselves are sort of intermediate between the main temperaments, to various degrees. I would imagine most creatures in alchemy world fall into this category, with two or more humours being balanced in their body
redesigns for the elementals (salamander, undine, celestial, gnome, sylph)
methinks they look quite a bit better

yeahhhhh back on alchemy bullshit again. I thought it would be fitting for Aether not to resemble an animal in any way. I think I am also adding to the Alchemy univserse another Elemental (which Paracelsus did not come up with) which is for Quintessence. I may call them Celestials. I think the Planetary Metal deities are related to Celestials in some way, possibly being Celestials which fell into the world - passing through the firmament changed them into their present animalistic forms. I guess their blood that was spilt upon impact made the deposits and veins of the metals?

as the leader of ExOps he is heavily complicit in the upbringing of the Power and Root Operators. although I don't think he's quite in his right mind either and is also a victim of Zygonetics's experiments, ie, the e in his Calculator which fucks with his perception of reality (while inside the Calculator the e doesn't really have access to the outside world it uses the Logarithm Operator as a conduit for all its transcendental effects)
