sometimes I feel like tumblr would benefit from a setting where you could choose to hide your ask button anywhere in your blog, so people would have to actually look through the blog to see if it already has answered questions similar before asking
(scrolling through blogs like creatingblackcharacters, check-your-asian-bias, vitiligo-is-not-a-trend, etc, opening my eyes to a world of people who ask before reading the most basic of pinned information on the blog. just, completely mind-boggling thought processes to me. )

Basil and Rosalyn how I've missed you
Basil is a naturalist and Rosalyn is.... well I actually don't know what Rosalyn used to do. I think she's probably also a naturalist, disgraced and exiled by the Red Sector. She meets Basil and they hit it off despite the war going on. tbh the specifics of what they do with the war is kind of vague but it was some kind of power of friendship bullshit.
Fun new fact about Basil is that she's visually impaired after observing a starfall way too closely as a child. She was completely blind for most of her childhood but can make out light and shadow after a while.
also yes they are in lesbians with each other (and polyamory, lest I forget Basil's other love interest Ringo)
Blue Sector has an extremely dense population tbh

just the cool sectors for now, partially because that's all I wanted to do today, and partially because I don't actually have concrete designs for the emblems of the warm sectors... for Orange I was pretty sure of it being a Sun but then I destroyed the Sun, so I'm thinking it's probably going to be a dune. Red is probably lava-based and Yellow....... whatever man I don't even know

i know if your parents are from different countries you can inherit either nationality or both but wouldn't it be more fun if they drew a line between the spot one parent was born and the spot the other parent was born and you got the nationality of wherever the midpoint of that line is? just a thought to spice things up. like if you have one algerian parent and one egyptian parent then you get libyan nationality. it's awesome too because many people would get ocean nationality.

How is this planet even real
I imagine in alchemy world there is one city in the centre of the world simply called 'the city' which is where all the more scientifically-interested creatures gather to study. and there is a truce in place between predators and prey because. well. it's not a very good learning environment if you're in danger of being killed and eaten all the time. The four main characters are probably taken there to get a proper alchemical education at some point

the shape of the antenna are meant to invoke fractal curves but not really a specific one
perhaps it would have made more sense to use the infinitely more recognisable inchworm for this but hey, they were a child at some point

(i think i was thinking about number beasts and 2 is an inchworm (geometer moth larva) and also was thinking about Fractal Vision so started thinking about science creatures)
