Hey ya’ll it’s Tricky, back feeding my lack of impulse control with a brand new RK900 blog! Please Like and/or Reblog if you want to interact and help get this blog off the ground!
Blog theme is just temporary until I can find something I like better, my rules are up and running though. Sorry it’s such a mess but please don;t let that deter you from interacting!
My blog’s not ready yet but is that going to stop me from posting headcanons? No sir
So have some vaguely structured ramblings on a few headcanons I have for Nines’ personality
Also a side note, a lot of this work under the assumption that it’s true that CyberLife’s plan was for Connor to turn deviant, but as an attempt at emotionally manipulating him into remaining on their side.
Being that RK900 is designed to be, put simply, better then RK800 in every way possible, he’d actually start out a little more robotic then Connor did. Sure, CyberLife may have planned for Connor to turn deviant eventually, but they probably didn’t count on him turning on them so quickly. I see CyberLife’s ploy as an attempt at emotional manipulation.
So they’re more careful with exactly how much emotion RK900 can emulate, so that if/when he himself deviates, they hope to have a better leash on his emotional state, and thus can manipulate him to their plans more easily.
So he comes across as much more stiff, robotic, cold, etc. He’s not easy to get along with, his mission is his priority, there’s little to no signs of early deviancy like with Connor. As far as anyone is aware, he’s the perfect little robot.
But again, if/when he does deviate, it’s honestly just
a mess
He’s not designed to handle emotions like Connor was, and look how that turned out “you ruined a perfectly good android is what you did, look at him, he’s got anxiety”
So, Nines resolves to simply hide what he feels. Represses his emotions because he shouldn’t have them, he doesn’t understand them so he shoves them away as unimportant/I’ll deal with it later.
Wakey wakey big mistakey
Deviant Nines, as a result of his awful “Nah I’m not dealing with that” attitude towards his own mental state, is a well meaning time bomb.
He’s easily annoyed and prone to lashing out if sufficiently pissed off. That’s not to say he’s violent by nature, he just doesn’t take shit. Actually the scary part is that he’s generally too calm. He’s not very expressive, generally keeps to a straight face and is incredible intimidating because of it.
He’s secretly even more of a pure bean then Connor.
Despite his cranky side, he’s got a heart of gold tbh.
He sticks to Connor like a lost puppy for at least the first few weeks. He tries to be nice to everyone, even if they’re an ass to him lookin at you, Reed and is absolutely a cat person.
I’m talking stops in the street and lays on the ground meowing levels of cat person. First person who catches him doing this damn near has a heart attack bc it seems so out of character.
He’s also insanely protective/possessive of people he likes. He’ll lift them over his shoulder like “fuck off this is mine”
LIKE BASICALLY JUST
Nines is an awkward, emotionally repressed dork and Connor looks at him like “Fuck I thought I was bad at this whole deviancy thing”
Nines makes Connor look like he’s got his shit together and that’s a feat.
