The Grudge
Ok. Iâm a woman. Women hold grudges. Women are mean, evil, crazy bitches.
There are some women I seriously just cannot understand, AND IâM A WOMAN!
I donât understand how you could be so selfish that you would let your childrenâs lives just slip through the cracks. I donât understand how you could be so selfish that you donât even notice whatâs going on in your childrenâs lives. I donât understand how you can choose one child over another. I donât understand how you canât FIGHT for your children when a threat to have them removed from your life comes along. I donât understand how your children can come to you, asking you for help and you CHOOSE to refuse the help that they are so desperately seeking. I donât get it.
How do you sleep at night? How do you look your children in the eyes after being so selfish? How do you not realize what youâre teaching your children through your actions? How do you continue to choose to fuck up not only YOUR life, but your childrenâs lives too?
Grow up. Fix yourself. TAKE CARE OF YOUR CHILDREN!
All she needs
Sometimes just a hug. Sometimes just to talk. Sometimes just a smile. Sometimes just one, whole day. Sometimes just an hour. Sometimes just to laugh. Sometimes just YOU.
Youâre High.
Honestly, youâre a monster when youâre high.
Iâve been high plenty. Iâm a monster when Iâm high.Â
All I want is for you to see how much better life could be. All I wish for you and your children is to have a better, healthier, HAPPIER life.Â
Thatâs ALL.
You canât see how great life could be if you just chose to live your life differently. Youâre high.
You canât see how many people would be willing to help you if you would just be willing to help yourself. Youâre high.
You donât know how scary it is, how sad it is, to watch you ruin every chance you get at a REAL life. Youâre high.
Youâre high. Youâve aged 20 years.
Youâre high. You hate everything beautiful about life.
Youâre high. Youâve become someone I donât even want to know.
Youâre high. I wish I could help.
Youâre high. You deny it.
Youâre high. You try to hide it.
Youâre high. I can see it.
Youâre high. Itâs not a secret.
Youâre high.
As Iâve mentioned before, I was raised in a strict Christian household. It was full of love, but it was also a house that didnât like Ellen DeGeneres or Rosie O'Donnell simply because they were gay. A house that would turn off the tv when the lesbian episodes of Friends were on (while I ran to the tv in my room and pressed âmuteâ to see it). One that would roll their eyes at the idea of gay marriage. Parents that meant well and just went by what they were taught, wanting us to grow up with something to believe. I remember sobbing in high school, thinking they would absolutely kill me. Things slowly started changing when I was 16+.
My Mom was the one who asked if I was gay. She was my biggest supporter, my secret keeper, and the one I told everything to. My Dad? He went from not wanting me to come out, to protect me, to telling everyone he knows if they ask if Iâm âdating any new guysâ - because thatâs simply who I am. In his words âwhy hide it? Who cares?â. My Mom came to me about Carol on her own, wanting to watch it to see the love story. When gay marriage was legalized, I called my Mom sobbing. She was sobbing with me, after yelling âYES! THANK GODâ in front of all of her friends.
After being raised to hate who I was, not even allowing it to be an option - to now, my Mother texting me just now saying âDo you have any more Human Rights Campaign stickers like you have on your car? I want one on mineâ
Change is a beautiful thing. Believe in it and believe in people.
THATâS parenting.
Love this!
Here's an idea!
How great would it be to let our children choose whether or not to see their parents after a relationship doesn't work out? Why is one parent favored over the other? Why is it ok for ONE parent to get to make that decision on the child's behalf? If there are ZERO physical, emotional or psychological threats to the child/children, why then can the child/children not make the decision to see EITHER parent? Shouldn't it be just as fair and as easy for them to choose to see either parent as they would choose to see a friend from school? Think about it. Child "Mom, can I go to Suzie's house after school?" Mother "Sure honey, as long as you finish your homework and chores and you're home by 8." Done. ------ Child "Mom, can I go to Dad's house after school?" Mother "You'll have to wait another week until it's your dads time to see you." Wait... What??? ------ Does this only NOT make sense to me? I'm a mother. I do not think, nor will I say that this doesn't also happen in reverse. I do NOT think that a child should be without EITHER parent. I do think that if there is no threat to the child's wellbeing, they should be able to choose when they see either parent. Clearly this situation would have to have stipulations for location of the parents, etc... but, come on! Time should be either parents time. Visitation with their parents should be an open door to our youth! When will a "voice for the children" be a voice whose TRUE INTENT is FOR THE CHILDREN?!
