I have to say, i enjoy all the gender fuckery in this game, with sam being heavily associated with pregnancy and lou being implied to be a boy through most of the game.

Saaaaam. Sam breaks all gender roles! Breaking the media stereotype of dads being stoic assholes but being a dork in private room and cradling Lou when he sleeps outside. Also is assoiacted with the more “negative” media stereotypes of women where they are meek, /see merely flinching from people who invade his space instead of enforcing his bounderies, not speaking up and arguing even when he’s shown displeasure etc/

He gets physically assaulted by other male players in the way other females in games often are /see Higgs all the time and the shower seen which is a douche move deadman/

He gets lots of naked on screen time /much more then any other character don’t at me about fragile because she wasn’t EVEN naked, she still had clothes on/ every beach scene and shower scene etc

And more positive scenes where he lovingly cradles Lou and worries over her and just sofnjejfndjd
