Wheatgrass is grown in the suspended container. When the rats finish digging up seeds and eating the grass, the love to construct burrows in the soil. I don’t know if you’ve already shown this on your blog, but thought of you immediately! This is such a neat set up and I think I’ve seen something similar or perhaps the same enclosure in one of my bio groups as a method of offering a natural area for rats & mice without the hassle that attempting full bio would take for messy mammals.
