Ginny Weasley had definitely been thrown into a situation outside of her element, alone. Well, she hadn’t initially been been left to her own devices as she had been Blaise’s plus one, but somehow they had gotten separated along the way to the dance area after dinner. It wasn’t as if she wasn’t a party person, she was, as long as she knew more than one person. And she hadn’t been left completely happy with her significant other as she sought for something to do or someone to talk to.. alone. The redhead wondered if he was searching for her too or if he figured that she would be fine by herself, knowing that she was a social butterfly. However, she was extroverted when the setting was comfortable, and… it wasn’t relaxing at the moment. But she said she’d try for him, no matter how unsettling the atmosphere felt for her.

There was no point in squeezing herself into the crowd of bodies that were now on the dance floor or anywhere else really in that area so she stayed in the outskirts to either scan the area for Blaise or for anyone she recognized. It didn’t help that she couldn’t go off what he was wearing either, everyone was wearing something white. Relief flooded within her stomach when she finally saw a familiar face as she was headed towards one of the beverage stations.  “Having fun?” she asked as soon as she reached them and grabbed a cocktail for herself while giving them a small, polite smile, “You haven’t seen Blaise at all, have you? I’ve seemed to lost him somehow.”

There are many ups and downs to attending the famed White Party. The guest list was limited, which does mean that there are less people to schmooze with and any schmoozing done can last longer and therefore is more meaningful, but it’s the same people every year, been there done that, and a lot of them are people he went to school with anyway. Then there was the attire, it was more of a way for all of the top designers to show off to each other and gain clients for next year than anything else. So far he’s seen robes of white velvet, white lace, and even white feathers... hits and misses. Luckily the food and drinks were always a win, and for this reason he was standing at the bar grabbing some kind of sparkling mixture, and here is where Ginny Weasley found him.

Theo couldn’t help but laugh, “Somehow..” he repeated, looking around at the crowd around them that seemed to all blur together. “One year they thought it would be a good idea to have everyone wearing masks,” he told her, “I don’t think there was a single person who ended the night in the company the brought.” He shook his head at the memory and gave her a reassuring smile and raised his glass to her, “You look great, I’m sure Blaise is looking for you as we speak, I’m sure the best thing to do is stay put until he does. I’d even be willing to keep you company.” He couldn’t help teasing her a bit, though he knew she was probably a bit nervous to be here, he also knew that she grew up in a house full of brothers so hopefully the teasing would have her acting like her self-confident self again.

Absentmindedly twirling with the fringe on her dress, the brunette surveyed the scene, a content smile on her lips. Daphne Greengrass threw a mean party, the entire wizarding world was probably aware of that, but the theme was an idea she came up only last week. Barking orders at the caterers, decorators, bartenders and everyone else involved with the organization of her party, her parents included ( mother complaining about not having any jewelry to match her new outfit, in particular ), Daphne had still managed to get everything set up in the nick of time, and actually catch a few minutes of sleep, to boost. 

“You should try the champagne,” Her eyes landed on someone approaching the bar a few steps from her, sparkling with excitement. She took a step closer and lowered her voice slightly as if she was telling some well-guarded secret, though her demeanor was still casual. “They apparently add a few drops of diluted Felix Felicis to every bottle.”

Finishing his second champagne glass, Theo gazed scanned the people around him, searching for the woman all this fuss was made for. He examined the people’s faces around him; drinking, laughing, dancing, enjoying themselves in these silly outfits that somehow enhanced the giddy feeling the whole place had; but couldn’t find Daphne among them. Sighing to himself, he decided to just go refill his glass, Theo was a heavyweight by practice so the alcohol wasn’t doing much, nor did he expect it to, but damn it was good. It was once he reached the bar did the voice he was searching for found him.

“Felix Felicis, huh? That actually answers a lot..” Theo grabbed a glass for her as well and took a step closer to bring the two even closer. Looking the girl up and down he couldn’t help the grin that crept onto his face, “Looking good birthday girl.”

SOCIAL CALENDAR (july 15 - july 31st )

July 15th  Now that the seventh years have graduated and the students in the lower years are beginning their holidays, a Start of Summer soiree is hosted by the Flints. The dress code is white and is therefore also known as the White Party.  Traditionally, only the upper class (and whoever they bring with them) are invited to the White Party. It starts with a dinner in the gardens of Flint manor before turning into a gathering of dancing and socializing. Only the finest foods and most expensive drinks are served.  July 19th Once every three months, Obscurus Books (18a Diagon Alley) hosts a small gathering for book enthusiasts to learn about and get to buy the new works first. This takes place in the evening, after the shop is closed, and is for those invited only, expecting to see the invite at the door before being let in. Publishers and authors alike are often involved and present as well.

July 22nd What better moment is there to present the fall collection of a clothing line, than in the middle of the summer? That is a thought that the owners of Twilfitt and Tattings stand by. Every year around midsummer, they host the Twilfitt & Tattings fashion show. A part of Diagon Alley is turned into a runway and a few high society girls that are lucky enough to be chosen, get to showcase the new clothes of the collection, something that is considered a great honour. The fashion show always draws a big audience, as well as the soiree afterwards.  

July 28th Of course the most festive celebrations are birthdays and thankfully the Sacred love throwing extravagent birthday parties. Daphne Greengrass’ twentieth birthday celebration is rumoured to be the event of the summer. The event is hosted in the biggest ballroom of the Greengrass manor and Daphne invited everyone that means anything to her. The hostess was very clear about the theme: the 1920′s. Everyone is expected to dress appropriately (you will be stopped at the door if you don’t) and while presents are optional, they are always appreciated.

 July 31st The Ministry of Magic is hosting a gathering in honour of Harry Potter in the Atrium. The Sacred are invited, but it can be doubted that many of the younger generation will show up. In the meantime, Draco Malfoy & Ruby Selwyn will be hosting a party in their penthouse and invited everyone that is a part of the upper class and around their age. It isn’t often that just anyone is let into the Malfoy-Selwyn penthouse, for the cousins are usually very picky about who they invite in. If not for the excessive amount of firewhiskey, the party is an excellent opportunity to snoop around for those curious. 

The roleplay is now open for interactions! You can use the events on the social calendar for open and closed starters both. They serve as a good starting point as places for characters to run into each other or agree to meet at. You can roleplay from July 15th until July 31st.

I never heard of [Benjamin Wadsworth], but I do know [Theodore Nott]. The [Slytherin] alumni is now [20] and works as a [socialite]. [He] sided with the [Death Eaters] during the war, but are a part of the Sacred regardless. The [pureblood] is [confident and calculating] at best and [vain and emotionally distant] at worst and remind me of [dark waves crashing, knowing smiles, and slender fingers adjusting a dark ring on a pale hand], but that could be just me. Theo grew up his whole life hearing about the great power the dark lord possessed, was told that there was no way to truly defeat him. Though what really sold him to these ideas was Voldemort literally coming back from the dead; a pretty convincing show of power if you ask Theo. He was on the side of the death eaters because it seemed clear to him that that was who is going to win. He was wrong. When Voldemort fell and Theo found himself on the losing side, it was a simple matter of accepting that his father was wrong after all and shifting his mindset. He may have been on the losing side of this battle, but his life was far from over and he was determined to win the war.

After graduating from Hogwarts, Theo had no need to pick up a job, as he could coast off his family money for several lifetimes. This means that he has had lots of free time, which he has been filling with connection-making. Everyone has heard of, and most likely been invited to, some of the grand parties held at the Nott Mannor. Always filled with prestigious guests drinking the night away; all the better to get money out of them to donate to whatever charity or cause that needed the extra funds. These parties have the added benefit of allowing Theo to interact will all sorts of influential people, to show them that he is a good man who they can trust; just in case he decided to fill his free time with an actual career, he’d like to have a few of these people think highly of him.

Selwyn: What is the biggest lie your character has ever told and why?

- Theo has no trouble lying, people like being told what they want to hear, after all. There is no difference in the size of a lie when they are being told so often.

Rosier:What is a regret your character has?

- Theo can honestly look back on his life and regret nothing. He made decisions on the information that he had at any given time, nothing to regret, only new information to be gathered.

Burke:Which magical object would your character most like to possess?

- As a part of an established wizarding family, Theo had many magical items that he inherited; a charmed tent, everlasting candles, several dark objects.. to name a few. Of course, back at school, Theo had heard rumors of a magical map that tracks the whereabouts of people regardless of invisibility cloaks or Animagus form, that could be fun to own.

- Theo is exceptionally good at thinking before he acts, every move he makes is a calculated one. It is for this reason that Theo is bad at forgiving people, if he can think through all of his actions, why can’t everyone else? There is no reason to make mistakes if you would just think.

Bulstrode:If your character had the option to take Polyjuice, who would they choose to turn into and what would they do?

- Theo might be tempted to say he’d turn into someone with power, someone with real influence, and say some really nice things to other important people about himself. But really, he’d rather flatter and shmooze his way into their good graces himself.

- Theo has no trouble lying, people like being told what they want to hear, after all. There is no difference in the size of a lie when they are being told so often.

- Before his mother died, Theo was actually a pretty happy-go-lucky kind of kid, and he has a many small scars on his hands, and a larger one on his right knee, to prove that.

Slughorn:What is the most useful potion in the wizarding world, according to your character?

- The Antidote to Veritaserum, nothing more dangerous than uninhibited truth.

Greengrass:What secret does your character want to protect most?

- Theo’s mother died when he was young, he will never admit how much he misses her.

Flint: Are there any expectations of your character from their family and do they try to live up to them?

- The Nott family threw in their lot with a side that lost, Theo lost his respect for his family, and cares nothing for what they expect from him. He, however, has extremely high expectations of himself.

Gaunt: What is the worst decision your character has ever made?

- Theo doesn’t have regrets, he makes decisions based on the information he has and if new information turns up, he simply makes a new decision. If he had to say he made a mistake somewhere, it would be listening to all of what his father said about the Dark Lord instead of doing his own research; so many people ended up in the winners ring, maybe he could have been one of them.

Greengrass:What secret does your character want to protect most?

- Theo’s mother died when he was young, he will never admit how much he misses her.

Lestrange: Is your character close to their family?

- No, not only did his family chose a losing side, they roped Theo into that side as well. Chances are slim that he will ever forgive them for it.
