Young Hero & Strict Mentor
☙ “It's too hard. I don't wanna do this.” “Oh, is it? Sure, that's fine. We can stop. Maybe when they come to kill you, you can tell them how hard learning to fight was and they'll have pity”
☙ “Can you help me? I can't figure it out.” “Fine. Meet me in the training grounds later.”
☙ “Why would I need to know this? I know how to fight, isn't that enough?” “You must still be having childish dreams of war paid with glory. Violence should only ever be your last resort. If you cannot engage in diplomatic correspondence, your hand should never carry a sword.”
☙ “You cut me!” “You were being sloppy.”
☙ “But it hurts.” “I know. But next time it'll hurt just a little less, and the time after that as well. As long as you keep getting up, the pain will get easier to carry.”
☙ [on the battlefield] “What is that?” “... Probably an arm. Don't look too closely.”
☙ “But why can't I play with my friends?” “They're normal kids. You're not”
