Isn’t it kind of fun how when your life sucks you just can’t talk about it with anyone

I’m serious though. When your life reaches a degree of suckage, you find yourself having to look elsewhere for anything at all to talk about. The things going on in your life are trauma dumping. Your past is probably also trauma dumping. So you have to get really weird about specific things or hope that others want to talk to you, because very quickly people are going to develop an aversion to you and the way your life sucks. Unless you just don’t talk about it

I think the collective prioritization of comfort first is hurting people in a real and material sense

Here’s a background tutorial that was intended to hand out to the painters on Over the Garden Wall…I’m actually not sure if I ever did (maybe German or Levon can chime in on this) Anyway, I whipped this up super fast in the early days of pre-production and it might be of interest or help to some aspiring digital painters out there.

My new conversational habit I've gotten really into in the last few years is instead of shrinking when someone vents or complains to me about a quality or circumstance they find annoying or "wrong" that I actually relate to - I just am like "I do that" or "that's how I grew up" and instead of being apologetic I just watch them struggle to explain how "I don't mean ALL people who _____, you're one of the good ones" or like how I don't count or whatever and it's just funny

Like I feel as a society we should just be able to be like oh sorry or oh maybe I'm being narrow minded

But instead we look for justification and I totally get it but also like it's stupid
