(cyreus-virgil)
“Siren?” Virgil muttered back somewhat puzzled. He had heard stories of the creature but never had any proof of their existence. There was several supernatural legends he’d never actually seen. For all he knew all could potentially be true.
“I didn’t Cyreus Cove hosted anything supernatural. You look like you were just a boy when you were turned. How Olaf are you now? By the looks of it. Hasn’t looked like you turned too long ago.”
Joseph reevaluated the man’s behavior, a little thrown off by the sudden change in demeanor. For a moment, Joseph thought he was trying to pose a genuine threat, given that the man quickly picked up on Joseph’s lack of mortality, and now, the man seemed to just be somewhat curious about him. Was this change on purpose? Joseph had little experience with humans who knew what he was, and tried to avoid being found out, for the most part.
Well, he tried to avoid getting caught after he ate entire towns.
“How olaf am I?” Joseph asked. “Did I just hear you right? Is that some Australian slang I haven’t picked up on yet?” Joseph was not about to volunteer that kind of information to this man just yet. A human who could tell apart supernaturals was not to be trusted, as far as Joseph was concerned.
Virgil continued to inch closer to avoid being heard by others. Not that there was anyone else to hear.
“I can’t help but wonder. Do you belong to a clan? Or are you by yourself here?.... to be perfectly honest. I was hoping I’d never run into vampires again. No offense... I didn’t think Cyreus Cove had supernatural beings here.”
He gave a small smile to appear less confronting. Hunting wasn’t exactly something he was hoping to go back to.
