The Order rosary I made for Sunday. I know his drip marketing now shows him on the Harmony path, but he's still covered in eyes so I think this will still work for him.

It wasn't a hugely complicated prop to model, but the rigging was a bit annoying (as most necklaces always are). I'm happy with the way everything came together.

An edit I made of Diluc's hair model back in March but forgot to post. Mainly because I was planning on making a render using it beforehand but never ended up doing that (maybe some other time).

Model uses meshes from his bangs from his alt skin 'Red Dead of Night' and the long parts in the back are from Clara (Honkai Star Rail). Textures were repainted and reworked to work with their merging.

I've been working on two models from scratch— some wings and a rosary for Sunday that I think look pretty good. Also got a render almost done. (also of Sunday because he bit me pff)

It's been a long time since I've posted anything though so I'm nervous. 🫣

Shoutout to this video tutorial from 11 years ago for the very specific visual effect I wanted to get in the render I'm working on. The recent ones I was looking at just weren't cutting it.

I wanted to know if there was an easy way to exactly reverse a scale amount when returning to 1 wouldn't be an option, and turns out all I had to do was tell Blender to do algebra.

Gee why didn't I think of that? 😅

I've been doing it a really time consuming way before. And it always felt like it wasn't quite right. So this saves me so much headache and time.

My base model is surviving the Gallagher stress test pretty well. By which I mean this model wasn't really made with a more stocky build in mind— it was more made for all the slender Genshin guys lol.

I completely pulled off the shoulders and reworked them, and made some other adjustments to the mesh and texture so now it more easily transitions between slender and stocky body types. I'm very pleased with the results even though it took a while to figure out.

And finally got his scars drawn in the correct spots. 🙏

I am sooo curious— how are Sunday’s and Robin’s halos rigged? Is there just a single bone that they hang off the head from? What are the physics like?

The model I downloaded (available here on HoyoLab) has the bones set up like this:

There is the upright parent bone on the left that controls this kind of tail chain that ends in the upright one on the right. That ending bone is weighted to the entire halo and can be moved on it's own away from the chain if needed. I'm using Blender, not MMD, so I can't say anything about physics for the model if it comes with any. And honestly I'm under the assumption that none of the models actually have physics in game. I think all the swishy animations are done by hand then played on a loop when you move around instead of it being real time.

The Genshin shader I built seems to transfer really well to the Star Rail models with minimal adjustments— mainly just the group for the face shadows since the way the faces are modeled is where they differ the most. Which is good because if I had to rebuild that entire thing from scratch I'd go crazy, haha.

Would look even better if I had the lightmaps and normal maps for these guys but even still it's working pretty good. I've been digging around online trying to find those textures but so far no dice.

Interest check for Dakimakura cases

I've been doing some research into the logistics of having dakimakura cases printed and shipped again and would like to know if there is still an interest in these cases being available for purchase? I'd sell the designs I've already made in the past, as well as design some new ones for some of the fandoms I'm into right now.

Let me know if you have any thoughts about it. Any feedback is appreciated.

I finished this piece in November last year. Better posting it late than never I suppose.

Last year I got really into tf2 again (I'm still playing it occasionally) which before then I hadn't played since like 2016 or somethin, so I felt the want to make a piece for an old ship of mine with Sniper and Scout. It was great to work with these models in Blender now instead of SFM, and actually be able to work with Scout's terrible shoulders (didn't miss those lol) by just reshaping them manually where I needed them.

May or may not do another tf2 piece in the future, but was nice to revisit them all the same.

I have a tf2 render that I should post before the year's over. It's been finished for like a month now 😓

I'm probably not gonna make any more tf2 stuff unless an idea really grabs me, but it was fun to revisit the characters of my old ship after so long.
