The Castro and Mission Dolores Park, San Francisco, California (May 9, 2014)

The Mission Dolores Basilica (Mission San Francisco de Asís) was the single religious structure that survived during the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. The Filipino architect who used adobe made this possible. (Structures of the Philippines are known to withstand such calamities, being that the country lies along the Pacific Ring of Fire.)
