i hate this post. you can respect the fact that trades are dependable and important without disparaging university education, which is NOT about making money. college is not about capitalism. a liberal arts education, in theory, is not about becoming an ideal employee. i’m talking to you business majors. university education about forming the moral and intellectual character. it’s not for everyone, and neither should everyone pick up a trade.

anyone who goes to college to “make more money” is not there for the right reasons. i mean, debt is bad, but reconsider studying the humanities if your chief concern is making money.

also, philosophy majors make substantially more than the “practical” business majors. a philosophy degree is the highest ranking humanities career for overall earning power.
