I mean, to be fairā Misa had not only halved her lifespan but also had killed to get the guy's attention. She had dirtied her hands in order to get recognition, went through torture and whatnot; it's a no surprise if she refused to let Light go.
While her past doesn't justify her actions, it certainly explained them. Why it's sometimes irrational, desperate, and overall wrong. She can't go back now, can she? Being involved so much, sacrificing and losingā she certainly does deserves something. She was just as delusional as Light, but she was extremely selfish and possesive (which, understandable). The girl had gone through so much, and for she to maintain her usual bubbly self despite everything is respectable.
However, referring back to the first and second pointā I refused to pass Amane as simply innocent or deserving better. While I do agree that she deserves something, I don't agree with the term 'deserving better'
(Oh God please don't bash me if I ends up sounding like an asshole)
Does Misa deserves her parents being taken away from her? No. No she doesn't.
Does Misa deserves having a stalker who almost killed her? No. No she doesn't.
Does Misa deserves being treated like shit (maybe an understatement?) after forcing a guy who wants absolutely nothing with her, threatening to kill innocent women if he much as dare actually loves them, having any other intimate relationship but her, having her Shinigami to kill the said guy if he refused, being the very thing the said guy wished to eliminate and and whatnot? You decide.
Does Misa deserves being tortured and denied her basic human needs + rights for about 50 days after killing an innocent reporter and officer who were tasked to capture one of the greatest serial killer of the century and possibly could've continue her futile massacre if she didn't get the attention she wanted? I'd say half. Since I don't know about said reporter and Ukita, but I don't doubt they might have a family.
She has become the villain in someone's else' story while depicting herself as the heroine; someone killed her parents, in return of the guy who killed said perpetrator, she killed someone's else' parents. Likeā Karma? But said Karma happens to people who actually doesn't deserve it.
Death Note has so much characters who is a great epitome of Grey areas; L, Light, Misa, Mello, etc. 'Commiting crimes for the greater good'. But the women didn't get as much recognition as the guys do though, sadly (Looking at you, Naomi Misora)
