Pokémon DND
Okay hear me out, a Pokémon DND world that takes place several hundred years ago. The world is split with factions and to store Pokémon they are stored in tattoos on each person skin. Each city is filled with factions and guilds.
Some of those guilds will determine what Pokémon types you can have. A thieves guild will use dark, poison, and flying types. While a monastery will use fighting and normal types. Magic exists in the work but they are used as buffs for your team.
While most Pokémon can't use items, some can use human weapons. Those that can are seen in a higher light than the others. Additionally the countries are always at war in some form.
As an adventurer it is up to you to decide if what factions you want to be in and what way you want to effect the world around you. I think this would be a great DND concept, I would do it but I would be a terrible DM.
