Today on "completely bullshitting vampire lore for Felix":
He has reflective eyes (got the idea from this video and also Nimona lol). Also, he forgot this isn't a normal human trait, so he never told Bailey about it. The first time Bailey spent the night at Felix's house, he nearly had a heart attack and threw a water bottle at Felix's head.
Sunlight isn't actually a vampire-specific weakness; it just turns out that when you spend centuries with little-to-no sunlight (the catacomb dwellers, the ones who are nocturnal to avoid humans, the really old ones who sleep for decades at a time, etc etc) you get burned very easily. Incidentally, these types of vampires are more likely to be discovered when they do interact with humans, since they've never learned to blend in. Hence, the popularity of the sun damage myth.
Vampires can't eat human food. Well, they can, but it makes them sick, and vampires practically never get sick. Every couple decades, Felix decides "fuck it" and tries some human food, and then spends the next several days curled up with a fever and stomachache. But really, what's the point of immortality if you never get to try ice cream? (inspired by this post about garlic)
Basically just this entire thread. Every conversation at a Council meeting twists the etymological timeline like a forkful of spaghetti. There is a distinct rivalry between the vampires who refuse, on principle, to use anything but Shakespearean english, and the vampires who talk like a confused but enthusiastic parent trying desperately to keep up with slang.
