The straw paladin (Chishinap kamuy) doodle spread! <3

According to the legend it is based off, there were around 61 Chishinap kamuys (a commander and his army). After a great battle, only the commander survived (the one we see in ToT). This is how a common soldier prob looked like:

When you’re venturing around Hokkaido for reasons but the dastardly straw god has decided to have a beef with tengus specifically cuz a bunch of them raided one ainu village decades ago.

Two sheets for the three plot relevant Tengus in the ToT story: Sehimir (white haired one), Pakto (black haired one) and Merguh (the bird looking one)

The reason why two of them look different from Merguh is because they’re from different species classes, with them being Dai Tengus (like Tōgok) while Merguh is a Ko Tengu.

Merguh and Pakto in particular reside in a shintoist temple and have mastered the ability to shape shift as humans to live among them as monks.

“The Greater Howling God passes by”

An illustration featuring a mystical entity that appears in the ToT lore, the amalgamation of the souls of all the wolves of Japan, wounded after they were brought to extinction by the Japanese empire during the Meiji restoration.

Since each wolf was worshipped by the ainu and considered an Horkew Kamuy (howling god), this entity is named the Greater Howling God.

Tiny spread of the main antagonist of the Tears of Tengu story Akihito the way he is in the main story. He has history with our guy Tōgok.. 👁️👁️

Out of all of the characters I’m dragging with me from high school, Tōgok and his gang gotta be the one that has gone through the craziest glow up. God the story used to be so SO different, but I’m glad it turned out the way it did

Tiny art dump of Tōgok and another kid from the upper class named Akihito!

Once freshly turned into a yokai with no memories, Tōgok joins a special survey corps squad that is part of the last stage of the Meiji restoration: eradicating yokais and kamuys that are deemed a threat to the Japanese empire’s expansion. Tōgok becomes a valuable asset for this mission!

Among the ruthless soldiers, one kid from a noble family seem to be gracing Tōgok with some kindness, and a bond forms between the two.

Finally sharing some drawings of the main characters of the story that takes place in the same universe as Artey’s: tears of Tengu!

The ainu girl is named Kakula (this might change),

the Tengu Tōgok

and the lil kid Junpei!

They’re all so dear and beloved to me :(
