PSA: If your blog is stuck in explicit mode

You can edit the settings page to change it.

This is my naughty blog right now. Notice how the icon is that snazzy default thing?

That’s because it’s set to explicit, a setting that was locked after the great purge:

BUT

If you right-click on that toggle and click “inspect element”, you can change that.

Notice how the input tag has a disabled attribute? Just remove that whole attribute - specifically disabled=“disabled”:

The toggle is now active

And toggleable

And now, after a quick refresh, my old (crap, but real) icon and header image are back, and the blog is no longer treated as hidden or explicit.

The goggle also disappears after the refresh, but it’s worth noting that you can also edit the toggle back into the settings panel and change your blog back to explicit if you so desire.

This is a perfect example of the laziness of tumblr’s devs. They haven’t removed the functionality, they’ve just kinda-sorta hidden it a bit; the end-point that the explicit toggle hits is still there.

Miriam and Tyler have been cosplay mainstays of many Pony conventions and a relentless source of Friendship and positivity in the fandom for years, and last weekend Tyler was planning to propose marriage. Instead they got a call that their house had burned flat to the ground. They’ve lost everything, from priceless family heirlooms to their beloved dogs, there’s just nothing left and now they’re homeless at what should have been the happiest time of their lives.

These are genuinely good people, they’ve made this fandom a much brighter place and absolutely do not deserve this kind of horrifying tragedy. Dustykatt has set up a GoFundMe page so they can at the very least have some money to find a place to live and pay for daily necessities; please, please go donate something, whatever you can spare to help them at a terrible time, and show them that Friendship really is Magic.

Article 13, Another “save the internet” thing.

I legit could NOT find a video or post about this subject that was not super-cringey. 

So I’ll just say it plainly.

In Europe, “Article 13″ will make user-generated content exponentially more difficult to create, since it will give copyright holders absolute control over all intermediary platforms, such as youtube/tumblr/twitter. 

So google “article 13″ and sign whatever petition/phone your MEP/reblog whatever posts to spread awareness.

If it goes through in Europe (IT IS IN THE FINAL STAGES OF VOTING), you can damn well bet the money-smoking slimebags in the rest of the world will rapidly follow suit.

Oh, and if I get purged soon after posting this, we’ll know who Tumblr is in bed with.

At CrossBones Graveyard, the unconsecrated mass burial ground for sex workers, the poor, and those who took their own lives is now marked by a beautiful garden and lovingly tended to by caretakers who see it as a sacred space.
