This is a really niche reference, but I NEED to see a fanart of Riddle in the Innocent artstyle
I feel like it'd fit him so well considering he's kinda like an Ouji icon- 😭
Madeleine Tronson, Innocent prequel moodboard/reference sheet.
Now...Madeleine Tronson. I want her to be cute and to visually stand out. I want her very cute and feminine, but in a more cozy and simple way than Marie Antoinette. Her "vibe" should be more sweet, domestic and somewhat spankable. She could have more ethereal qualtities too.
Let's look at what traits her children have so we can kind of reverse engeneer her.
So, both her children have glossy, thick and slightly wavy black hair, Charles-Henri has grey eyes and her daughter has very soft facial features. Claude does have some thin eyebrows.
Now, for Madeleine, the features should be even softer, as both of them seem to have enherited some angularity from daddy dearest. The eyes should not be very big, nor have very long lashes, but well-apart with dark circles. Hands should be delicate and slender. Overall, very cute features without being too doll-like.
Now, for her look. This character should stand out...Yet at the same time, we want her to look like she spent many, many years inside a torture chamber. Jules Tronson was a torturer for a stint, so...I think it would be nice in the Innocent verse if Soubise trained under Tronson until his death in 1735. In terms of economic status, they should look neither rich nor poor. The silhouettes can be fashionable, especially for her Sunday best, but the fabrics should be very mat, simply spun linen or wool crepe.
So...Let's look at the fashion from the 1730s.So, I do like the silhouette of this robe battante, but we could adjust the front to be a little bit more interesting.
As you can see, the hairstyles involve soft gathering of the front sections of hair.
Let's take the one from the thirdies that is the second one, and make it bigger and floppier. Or mixt in the second and third one for...ultimate cuteness.
For her work clothes, I would add in a simple "manteau de lit" with outside ties, and a long, full skirt with an apron beneath the manteau de lit. Not quite accurate, but...Sticking some tape isn't a complicated sewing projects, and...I want the waist to be concealed as much as possible.
Now, Innocent's charactre desings aren't the most...historically accurate of all things, and I want it's signature to be very long, beautiful black hair. So I think of maybe very simple double braids, or a large single one. Yeah...Half up, half-down styles can look very...princess like, but we can also make it look more flowing. For her Sunday best, something more elaborate could be in place...Or...We could give her a very layered haircut...Yeah, sure it looks very modern, but...So does Marie-Josèphe's hairstyle so what. Also, both Marie's and Claude's hairstyles as little girls look way more BJD than anything ressembling XVIIIth century fashion, so why not try something more soft and casual, especially with the bangs.
Like, for her Sunday best, I am tempted by robe battante...This is what I want it to look like :
Since they were very much a married woman's dress. She could have inherited one from her mother...Or, if we choose to make sure her mother is still alive for a few more years in the story. We can give Madeleine a more youthful style, and one that is more accurate than how Sakamoto-sensei usually styles his characters, with a more...classical XVIIIth century silhouette. I know quilted petticoats won't become fashionable until the 1750s...But...They are cute, and the hairstyles are anachronistic, while braids are timeless.
But, we can give her a visibly quilted petticoat with a simple casaquin on top, especially if it's a waistless one with beautiful floral patterns. That could be very cute.
Overall, Madeleine should be CUTE, cozy and domestic, with a little bit of spankability and ethereality mixt in. Overall very feminine and very cute, but not in a doll-like way.
Or...We could go the opposite direction. Like, girl would have to have survived a few prison riots as a torturer's daughter. But even then, the cuteness here could be an act of rebellion.
Also, we would have the potencial for the cutest modern AU looks with a chunky, oversized cardigan and a house dress.
ssssecond one done why did it turn out better then my goat ej
Time Lapse of the Land Taken From Native Americans
via reddit
I will reblog this EVERY GODDAMN TIME so people can understand how the US government taking more and more land from Natives is nothing new (even the land originally promised after being kicked off their original, sacred lands) and they NEED to be fucking stopped. They need to be held accountable for the destruction of our people not just then but also now.
@i-add-sources do you know where we can read more about this? (Please and thank you!)
