You're one of the few writers I see call her oc pairing toxic and abusive. most of the people in dl try to make the abuse romantic yet you go the extra mile and say it's gross abuse and write it that way. You changed my view on a lot of fiction
I hope that’s a good thing, but I have a number of reasons for that which I’ll explain in a moment because people have actually asked why do I call my own OC ship unhealthy…
I’ve always written dark fiction, whether published original stories for magazines or fanfics on websites. Normally I don’t pay attention to exactly how many people read my stories but I grew alarmed at seeing that a lot of people (more than I thought) are familiarized with my writing and among them there’s a lot of minors (although I prefer adults to read my writing only but I can’t stop minors from doing so).
Noting this I knew that some people might get the wrong idea, and at times I saw reviewers calling some immoral things I wrote as “sexy” or “romantic”.
I’ll admit I freaked out 😂😂😂. I write themes that I find horrifying for my dark fiction. None of them are romantic or meant to be seen as romantic at all, since I had horror in mind when writing them.
So I started giving author notes and so forth and categorizing my stories as horror, to let people know my stories weren’t depicting relationships to yearn to have in real life because of the abusiveness and lack of respect and consideration between the people in my pairings
I find consent romantic, I find respect romantic, consideration and comfort are extremely romantic, but non-con and fear play and just general terror is far from romantic in my eyes.
I do write romantic fanfics, but I make consent between the couple a huge factor because I think a healthy relationship should start out with at least that much respect towards each other’s bodies and feelings.
(People might be shocked at reading this since I’m called a “sadistic author” or even “queen of darkness” but I do separate my abusive dark stories from my genuinely romantic ones. You’d see a vast difference in how I introduce such different pairings)
Besides all this, I think that there’s a certain kind of responsibility people writing dark triggering content should take when publishing such material. We have to take into consideration that we might have very impressionable readers that might want to even DO these things in real life or even want such a twisted relationship for themselves.
This is pretty much why I call my own DL ship abusive and people who have stolen from said ship to romanticize such material are quite disgusting. (Just in case they’re reading this since I know they were heavily jealous of this couple’s twisted dynamics enough to plagiarise entire abuse scenarios from Laito and Hannah)
There’s nothing romantic about what Laito does to Hannah at all. I wrote them as pure horror and I’m happy most of my readers that come forth admit to enjoying the pairing but are healthy minded enough to separate fiction from reality saying “I’m happy they’re fictional because a real life couple like this would be terrifying. I hope nobody goes through that.”
That’s something I like seeing my readers keep in mind when reading my dark stories.
A healthy separation between fiction and reality as well as right and wrong are very encouraged by me to my readers.

So...I have other elves than my Dark Elves or Drow. Drow is an exonyme/umbrella term to refer to semi-triglodyte/nocturnal/chtonic elves.
The nocturnal elves have :
-Black hair of various textures, unless they have capilary albinism. This black hair can range in texture from pin-straight to kinky, with most having something in-between. It tends to also have a plush, fluffier texture. They tend to have longer, curlier eyelashes. Women and children have exeptionally ashy hair.
-They are extremely gracile, even by traditional Tolkien elf standards. They also tend to have a shorter stature, but outliers are there.
-Skin tones range from the pinkish color found in human albinos for the thinner skinned invididuals, while individuals with thicker skin have an ashen porcelain complexion. Eyes are also very low in pigment, albeight they sometimes do possess pigments that do not exist in humans. Eyes range from pinks, reds, blues, purples, greens and greys, sometimes in shades that do not exist in humans such as a bright cherry red or pastel lavender, with males having more shimmering and saturated colors.
-They have intense dark circles, most prominant in women and girls passed puberty, that are strongly selected for as their culture see it as a sign of sexual maturity. This gives most of them quite a gaunt visage.
-They very large ears, giving them sometimes a desert kitten or fennek fox vibe, especially in older individuals who have increasingly droopy ears. Since most have quite large eyes for dark vision, as well as short noses, it gives them quite a "cute" look.
Ice elves on the other hand :
Ice elves is a generic term to mean ethnic groups of elves that have evolved in a polar climate. They are all diurnal, although some have adapted to a more semi cave-dwelling lifestyle with agriculture.
-They tend to be bigger, still gracile because classic elves, but their ears are more...human-sized, with the pointy tip not ususally visible from beneath long hair.
-Skin pigmentation range within the medium tones, with males typically coppery or caramel and females typically ashy, some even having a dark greige skin tone...More alpine inviduals tend to tan darker...
-Tend to have light, silky straight hair, with females and children being significanly ashier. This combo leads to boys looking quite odd while undergoing puberty, with the roots of their hair significantly brighter than the rest of the length, and their skin loosing ashiness in patches.
-Their wings have melanine and symbiotic algea, creating patches.
-Their facial features have typically slanted eyes with epicanthal folds, with color ranges in the blacks, browns and hazels, and tend to have aquiline noses in adulthood. Their mages tend to have light hazel eyes.
-Overall healthier than Drow because they don't have to eat rané or drink demonic water.
Is this...range of ethnic phenotypes realistic ? Also, cultural practices and life style do exacerbate their differences...Also, could an Ice elf adapt to the Pyroxene drow lifestyle if taken in young enough ? Like, with the difference of climate (one who spent their entire life in the tundra vs a cave-dweller), diet (used to a more varied diet free of rané) and not used to work and deal with cold turkey at the same time. Although...She'd be luckier than a human girl since she's actually able to derive calories from black mold.
It seems like a good range of traits to me. Each group has very clear adaptations for their environment, so it makes sense.
I think an ice elf may be able to survive with the drow, but they will lack many of the cave-dwelling advantages the drow have developed. Their smaller ears and diurnal adaptations will make cave navigation a little trickier, for example.
So...For my own fantazy world, elves tend to be more advanced than humans when it comes to textiles, since their slender build and increased dexterity make it both easier and more necessary. Also, their flightless youths and the need to sometimes carry them in the air had made some interesting technological leaps, such having solid grasp on aerodynamics in the late paleolithic...But by the XVIth century AD, ice elves still don't do metalurgy, but the drow tend to be fairly good smiths, particularly since their cave system have tin and copper deposits, with a little bit of native gold. But no elven cultures will produce their own strawmats, since the work expendature to cultivate such plants would be...very low reward, and they can't digest starch...Before the elven hunts, some elven groups would cultivate nettle and then trade away the fermented leaves in exchange for straw artisanal goods from humans. The ice elves still do, and consider strawmats as fancy exotic goods, with the ones made from rye being the most valued for their comfort and resistance to rot. For the humans living near them, these strawmats are valued, but with the ice elves present, the demand would be much greater...Which does create some tensions. Ice elves tend to enjoy making business with humans and dwarves because it's basically : oh, the thing that is basically worthless to us, you want it and you're willing to pay good for it...Okay.
In general, because of their wings, elves tend to prefer crafting headsteads with holes to pass the face through for breathing, or even have beds with built-in face holes for more respiratory comfort during belly-sleeping. Drow make headrests with face holes padded with fishskin cushions stuffed with elven hair...but the slaves and the poor peasants often have to make do with the cold floor, no head rest at all.
The drow city has some bedding infrastructure that is considered more "high end"...For a small fee (or on tax-payer charge for the most destitute of individuals), one can use a headrest for a night. It's usually used by poorer individuals who have sustained an injury until it heals...While drow typically practice wing cutting, they still don't sleep on their backs once they reached sexual maturity because one : it's very counter-intuitive for a past-puberty elf in general and two...during the healing process, sleeping on the back would put pressure on an fresh stump, so the childhood habit is quickly broken, not to mention getting all kinds of dust and filth into an open wound.
What are other technological considerations beings that develop wings at puberty would probably develop ?

here's a few extra ideas:
anything flying people need to carry in the air should be lightweight, which would probably turn them away from metal on a large scale even if they had access to it. as a result, they will gravitate more towards sturdy forms of wood or wood adjacent materials. in the real world, bamboo and river cane have long histories of being used for a wide variety of tools and other objects due to their light weight and durability. so anything similar to them will also be useful!
since wings take up space on the back, they likely would carry most things on the front of their bodies, which requires a different balance than a backpack would. making larger packs that are easy to use and not too in the way of their arms or face would probably lead them to inventing alternate bag/pack shapes.
I feel like winged people would probably prefer sliding doors over hinged doors. this isn't a new type of technology, but they could certainly come to it independently of other people who also came up with the idea.

How far would Subaru go?
Is he capable of rape?
I posted something similar to this a couple of weeks ago, but it hasn’t shown up in the darkdialovers tag (thanks tumblr). I’ve also written about it somewhat in the past, but I haven’t done anything in-depth about it, so that’s what I’d like to do with this post. I’d also like to get opinions/thoughts from other people in the tag who may disagree.
It is a popular notion in the fandom (actually the only notion so far as I can tell) that Subaru would never rape Yui/the mc because of the trauma he went through as a child, watching his mother go mentally insane because she had been raped and imprisoned by his father.
However, I see things very differently. Based on implied evidence from drama CDs and HDB, I think Subaru is very capable of rape. As is the same with his father and brothers, I don’t believe Subaru sees humans on the same level them, since they are pureblood vampires. Subaru’s mother was also a pureblood vampire, and I do not believe he would see a sacrificial human girl with the same respect he held for his mother.

Ok this is kind of dark and I hope you aren’t uncomfortable, but I know that sadly none of the Sakamakis are opposed to sexual abuse. However, do you think they would react differently if their kid was sexually abused? (In an AU where they had kids) Would they blame their kid or the abuser? Do you think Subaru or Laito would have stronger reactions since Subaru’s mom was raped and Laito was abused by his mom?
Questions like this don't make me uncomfortable at all. The series is dark and I appreciate discussions like this.
I do think the Sakamakis would react very strongly if their own kids were sexually abused. They are extremely possessive of Yui and to anything they consider that belongs to them, and I think this would extend tenfold to their children. They see any slight against their possessions as a slight against themselves, and I think they would react violently towards something with that level of violation against their kids.
I do think their sense of possessiveness would probably keep them from blaming their kids for the abuse, but on the other hand, the boys are also vulnerable and emotional beings underneath their own abusive exterior, and could have issues separating their sense of self from their kids. I'm certain that seeing their own children endure abuse would bring up trauma from their own past, causing them to react even more violently, and possibly transferring their own past anger and feelings of self blame onto their children, especially for Laito and Subaru.
However I think it is far more likely for them to take their anger out at the perpetrator, projecting all their own trauma onto the one that hurt their kid. Whoever that person is would die a long and slow, painful death.
The aftermath would perhaps be the most difficult for the boys to deal with, as they never learned how to cope with their own pasts, and I don't think they would be able to help their kids cope very well either.
i know that they're all possessive in their own ways, but in YOUR personal opinion, how would you order the Sakamakis from most possessive to least?
1. Kanato
2. Ayato
3. Reiji
4. Laito
5. Subaru
6. Shuu
I think Kanato and Ayato are pretty close in their possessiveness but Kanato is just reaaaalllly fucking terrifying about it, so that's why he comes in number one. Like, he'll think about killing you for just talking to one of his brothers. On the other hand, Ayato will kill his brothers so you belong to him and only him... so yeah they're pretty close for top spot.
I debated on whether Laito or Reiji should come in 3rd but decided on Reiji because he demands obedience and perfectionism, and I don't he would even for a second entertain his belongings in the hands of someone else. He would punish you severely for it.
I think some people would argue that Laito would come last, because he likes to share his toys. But he does show a more sinister, manipulative way of being possessive. He might share, but ultimately you belong to him, and you'd better remember that - or he will make you remember.
I had some trouble deciding who should come last because Subaru and Shuu will both ignore Yui at times and seem indifferent in the beginning about her choosing them, probably because neither of them want attachments of any kind. But it takes a lot longer for Shuu to decide that she is worth the effort of keeping her to himself, so I decided he is the least possessive. But that doesn't mean that he won't eventually be possessive, because he certainly will. He killed Reiji over Yui. And there's that game room scene where he won't allow anyone else to drink her blood.
So yeah, if anyone disagrees with the order or wants to add anything, feel free. I love these kinds of discussions ;)

I think Subaru would be capable of hitting her, yes, though perhaps not as likely. I can't recall any instances of him actually doing that (but my memory is really bad at the moment 🥴), but he has definitely gotten violent, such as lifting her off the ground by her neck, and cutting her with his knife. And as we all know, he is quite violent with everything in his environment. Those who have extreme anger issues like that do tend to eventually turn that aggression onto those closest to them. He would most likely feel terrible about it later, but that has never stopped him from continuing his violence before. And just because they "fell in love" wouldn't mean that he wouldn't hurt her again, because he still does, even after he told her he loved her.

The biggest reason I don't see borderline in Laito is because of the major component of impulsivity in borderline symptoms. That's probably the main symptom for that disorder. I don't see Laito as impulsive. Kanato, Subaru and Ayato are good examples of impulsive personalities. But you don't see that in Laito often. He's very methodical and deliberate in his behaviors and manipulations. He will take great care to analyse every aspect of you to find the ways that would hurt you most. That's his way of gaining power over you. He enjoys using all kinds of manipulative cruelty, both physical and emotional, to gain power and control over his victims. He gains sexual gratification from this form of power and control. It's his way to gain power and control over the trauma of his CSA. He inflicts sexual pain and control on others as a form of control over what happened to him.
These behaviors fit sadistic personality disorder best, imho. But that diagnosis was removed from the dsm for various reasons, mainly because of stigma from the bsdm community, I believe? But from what I've heard, it's being reconsidered in the context of nonconsent and disordered behavior. I have not properly spent time looking into this though.
The dsm 5 does have a sexual sadism disorder, but I don't think it fits Laito as well as sadistic personality disorder. The difference between the two diagnoses is that sexual sadism disorder is for sexual pleasure, whereas sadistic personality disorder is for control in general, not just sexual control.
So yeah, I still haven't settled on a current dms 5 diagnosis for Laito. But, I haven't actually had time to sit down and really dive into it to find a good fit for him.
ETA: Laito also doesn't have the feelings of worthlessness that is also a main component of borderline. I think he has subconscious feelings of worthlessness, but that's just my opinion. He never outright says he's worthless, the way people with borderline do. He does have the mood swings with hostility and irritability and some antisocial behaviors, but I don't think he's self destructive or self-harming the way borderline disorders tend to be, and he's not suicidal in the least.

Ottawa is moving to pass a bill to restrict social media for teens under 16 years old.
They don't specify how they're going to enforce that exactly, but it's very possible they'll follow in the footsteps of other countries and force everyone to provide social media companies with their legal ID in order to use the platform. This is a terrible idea, given how many third-party verification companies have already been involved in data breaches.

Honestly I agree I also kind of feel like Laito would be incredibly emotionally manipulative with her along with feeding her pumpkin Basically manipulating her into thinking of what he did was love (Even though in reality it was not) and manipulates her into having sex with him

The arc of the First Sanson with Marguerite Jounne would’ve been fascinating if it was focused on how the Memoirs were only as Charles I perceived them and how men view women who go against the grain as the downfall of society. Basically he viewed Marguerite as a buxom evil seductress and that he didn’t truly raped her - Oh no, Marguerite only pretended to be asleep and actually wanted Charles I - It was all part of Marguerite’s plan to drag someone else down with her loneliness! (Why else would Charles I suddenly go into a rage and choke Marguerite to death?)
But then it cuts to the same events but from Marguerite’s perspective, showing the audience that she was only a teenager, trapped by the adult men around her, and that whatever small attempts she’s made for her own autonomy culminated with Charles I killing her.
Or...
Write Pierre Jouenne is a witch-hunt survivor and...a grieving father who lost a child to lynching, just like in canon. His abuse comes from a place of :"How can I keep my precious baby girl unlynched and free of Gant rape ?".
It would be also interesting to have Marguerite be a sweet girl who agrees with the values of her dynasty, and wants to help her on the scaffold, because according to the values HE raised her in, the refusal is infantilizing. When he says "no", she talks back by saying :"I've been mobbed twice!", as in their weird subculture, it's considered a rite of passage. And he does recognize it as such, since he replies by gently pinching her cheeks.
Her father is one of the few people who treat her like a human being, and she sees his assistant/servants, one of whom is female in the Mémoires, as her family because they are. Also, in this weird subculture, accepting social ostracism is a sign of filial loyalty. Altogether, this makes her terrified of social acceptance, since it means for her leaving behind everything and everyone she knows and love, as well as render the skills she might have and take pride in (such as didging dozens of rocks of making corpse medicine) obsolete. But her frustration and loneliness does make her more vulnerable to predatory individuals...
