Finally done! I wanted to try some lightning experiments with this one and even if it isn't perfect I'm really happy with how it turned out! I also found out how difficult it was to draw Henri, his damn hair jdkajdkj
DO NOT REPOST!!
What People do not get with Charles-Henry
So...Yeah, I finished re-reading "A Race of Headsmen" by Trevor Rhode, which is good barring a few mistakes of vocabulary and genealogy, and I have reread in June "Histoire de la France urbaine"...I should probably re-read also Sanson's diary.
But...The tragedy of his life was that he fought for citizen rights and social acceptance for himself and his colleagues, was an advocate of the guillotine for both practical and humanitarian reasons and overall...But it came at a steap price, in pecuniary problems, in his sanity and in human lives.
Like, it's a lot harder to kill, psychologically, people who treat you like a human being than it is to kill people who look down on you.
A feature of the Ancien Régime, and in fact early Revolutionary period, was the strong popular opposition to gratuitous state violence, especially towards the beggars, the innocent, the homeless. Because of the several scandals of the time, the first four generations had lived in constant fear of mob violence. But...This violence was the symptom of extreme community solidarity.
With the execution of the little Nicole Bouchard, along with several compatriots, most of whom were clearly innocent and it was all state violence, the crowd protested, but did not storm the scaffold, did not threaten the executioner nor his staff, nor the soldier. The crowds had threatened them for much, much less. And yet...Nothing.
So, it becomes a question of, is the society that welcomes you worth living in ? Imagine if your quest for social acceptance was granted, but it indirectly caused the deaths of 1000s plus individual at your own hands, around 10 000 across the country, by making it technically possible to kill that many people through state policy, thanks to partial automation. This is not a simple fact of passively following orders, it's helping create the environment were these orders could be given and be physically possible to obey. To twist the knife further, the people, even if they became technically more easy to kill, have become emotionally harder to do so, because they accept you as a member of society.
Also, he likely always dreamed of doing his job without the constant fear of mob violence. Well, that also was given to him. But it also meant the web of solidarities and the pluck of the city he spent his entire life in was at best sick, at worst dead. Like...Sure...He wanted social acceptance and safety from mob violence, but not at this cost.
Is it any wonder if by the end of his life, he was pleading his son to not only take over, but to stop advocating for the rehabilitation of the image of his profession ?
What are your Subulya (Subyss x Nicolas) headcanons?
Subyss x Nicolas Headcanons
-I feel like Nicolas cares more about Subyss than the other way around
-They probably started their dubious „relationship“ in their teens
-Nicolas was foolishly in love with them until he realised that he won’t be able to „fix“ Subyss and that he wouldn’t shy away from being abusive towards him as well
-Because he was so blinded by his feelings for Subyss he realised this relatively late
-I headcanon this to be the reason for why Nicolas is somewhat salty in the others presence
-Still he is just a man after all and he hooks up with Subyss infrequently when they get the chance to do so, hardly ever sober however so he can blame it on the alcohol
-Subyss does care for Nicolas to a degree but it’s not genuine in any way
-To him the executioner is a fun way to pass time and to get rid of the nagging boredom, plus he is pretty and Subyss horny
-Subyss knows that the other is enticed by his flamboyance and cruelty even though he won’t admit it, this only fuells the torturers desire to shock him and see how far he can push Nicolas boundaries
My ideas for Bellatrix Lestrange wardrobe :
During the First Wizarding War, I would imagine that in everydwy life, she would wear something quite elaborate, dark purple with black lace.
That's nice I like it
August Project for my Step-mom
Free publicity, hi hi ! Book in exchange for best card.
Now, my step-mom really likes very natural landscapes, and she really likes the visuals of cute cottages, forest and gardens.
August is mushroom season...So...That should also be taken into account. Summer is cherry and lily season also...
This was taken in Spring by none others than yours truly, but...It could work for Summer...
Now...A feature she wanted was a cabin or cottage and some more trees. Simply copying the composition of this photo would not be enough.
So...There are these ice cabins that I really like...They are super cute.
Look at this picture from Radio Canada !
Now...It is not ideal...But...It has potencial for some beautiful views. Now...I am not sure I want this specific style, and I might do something similar to my Christmas picture...But summery.
These pictures are from Pinterest...
You know I cannot get enough of dramatic lighting. Let's look at MTG.
I certainly want some lakey bits...But the sky is important for this, for the lighting.
Now...
White pine from the blog of Québec
Now...I want to maybe get a bit of character and interior design inspo from Pinterest.
I guess the color palette goes for the entire piece in either a warm palette, a cold palette or a green, brown and blue palette.
For the character, who will probably be seen from a bird's eye view...I am partially tempted to draw her lying down...I just need that relaxed energy...But then the trees and the other stuff won't be visible. Well, I will do the initial sketches before deciding on a character.
btw it's not normal for this many people to want to fuck animals and kids and eat shit and piss. kinks have always been around but like, it is a bad thing that antisocial paraphilias are more prevalent and it's pretty obviously because of the internet.
This is Cursed !

Ok this is kind of dark and I hope you aren’t uncomfortable, but I know that sadly none of the Sakamakis are opposed to sexual abuse. However, do you think they would react differently if their kid was sexually abused? (In an AU where they had kids) Would they blame their kid or the abuser? Do you think Subaru or Laito would have stronger reactions since Subaru’s mom was raped and Laito was abused by his mom?
Questions like this don't make me uncomfortable at all. The series is dark and I appreciate discussions like this.
I do think the Sakamakis would react very strongly if their own kids were sexually abused. They are extremely possessive of Yui and to anything they consider that belongs to them, and I think this would extend tenfold to their children. They see any slight against their possessions as a slight against themselves, and I think they would react violently towards something with that level of violation against their kids.
I do think their sense of possessiveness would probably keep them from blaming their kids for the abuse, but on the other hand, the boys are also vulnerable and emotional beings underneath their own abusive exterior, and could have issues separating their sense of self from their kids. I'm certain that seeing their own children endure abuse would bring up trauma from their own past, causing them to react even more violently, and possibly transferring their own past anger and feelings of self blame onto their children, especially for Laito and Subaru.
However I think it is far more likely for them to take their anger out at the perpetrator, projecting all their own trauma onto the one that hurt their kid. Whoever that person is would die a long and slow, painful death.
The aftermath would perhaps be the most difficult for the boys to deal with, as they never learned how to cope with their own pasts, and I don't think they would be able to help their kids cope very well either.
The Sakamakis as Parents
I got an ask for some Pregnant Yui headcanons and for the brothers as fathers but I accidentally deleted it. I’m not that great at headcanons so this came out as more of an analysis because as usual I am way too passionate about looking at a fictional series through a realistic lens ><. Be prepared, this won’t be a popular opinion. This is based on the og dialovers personalities from Haunted Dark Bridal.
So, the Sakamakis all have issues with control, and they use fear and intimidation as a way to keep that control. They’ve done that for hundreds of years, and as unpleasant as it is to think about because we love these characters, they probably aren’t going to change their sadistic abusive behaviors just because they become fathers.
In HDB, Yui didn’t change the brothers with her love. That kind of thing came in later games. In HDB, she had to change herself in order to survive. She had to throw away her religion, her sense of self, to adapt to the particular brother that she chose. The brothers weren’t the ones who changed – and they remained abusive all the way through.
And I don’t think they would be any different if they were to become fathers.
I do believe that all of them would feel far more protective of Yui and their children.. but they aren’t going to suddenly turn into men who have mutual respect and love for Yui. They see Yui as a possession, someone they own, and I think there’s a good chance they’d view their children the same way.
Obviously I don’t think they’d be that way all the time. Even in the game they aren’t always abusive; as with all abusers, they have their moments. And maybe those moments would be more frequent with their children. But being a parent is a trying thing even on the best of days. I worry how they would be on days where kids are being kids, pressing all the wrong buttons. I cannot imagine any of the brothers dealing with that in a healthy, calm, disciplined way that validates their children in a positive manner.
I don’t think they’d treat a pregnant Yui much different either. They’ve never learned how to behave selflessly, and they’ve never been around pregnant humans. They aren’t going to be aware of Yui’s needs, nor be willing to give up their own needs to serve hers. (The exception to this would probably be Reiji. He would likely read everything there is to know about pregnancy and would ensure that Yui got proper rest and nutrition. He might rub her feet out of necessity to help the cervix ripen rather than to help her feel better. Subaru too might treat her with more care, though I could also see him avoiding her, afraid that he might ruin the child inside her or that it might be a monster just like him.)
Yui would do the best she could, and she would try to make things as good as she could for the kids, but parenting is the hardest job in the world – and she would have to do it while fending off abuse herself.
Ultimately she wouldn’t be able to stop the damage. And in some ways, that could make it worse if the kids didn’t understand that she didn’t have a choice. They might end up blaming her someday for never leaving, as abused kids often do.
In fact, much of the abuse doesn’t even need to happen to the kids. All they have to do is witness it happening to Yui and they’ll be traumatized.
The kids would never know what a healthy, respectful marriage would look like. So the cycle of abuse would likely be perpetuated, probably with daughters ending up in abusive relationships and boys ending up as abusers.
Parenthood can also be triggering for parents that were themselves abused in childhood. It is entirely likely that the brothers’ trauma would be triggered by their own children. It is not uncommon for children to become the target for their parents’ misplaced rage and ptsd that they might have towards themselves and their own parents.
As much as we all wish the opposite were true, I just can’t see the brothers suddenly stopping their sadistic and abusive behaviors just because Yui gets pregnant.
So since his went on long enough, here are some individual headcanons I did manage to make:
Shuu:
Leaves most of the parenting to Yui
Might feel anger towards a lazy child (because he sees too much of the things he hates about himself in his kid)
Might have difficulty connecting with a child who bottles his emotions the same way he does, creating a nonexistent father/child relationship
On the flip side, a child with Reiji’s work ethic might be disgusted by having Shuu as a father, causing them to have a fractured relationship
Reiji:
Would be an authoritarian, controlling parent
Would be overly critical
Would be critical of Yui’s parenting
Would berate Yui in front of the kids
Would openly despise a lazy child
Ayato:
Gets jealous of the time, attention and affection Yui gives his kids
Verbally berates Yui in front of the kids when he is pissed at her
Continues to call her Chichinashi in front of the kids (for those that don’t know, that literally means Titless. Imagine your dad calling your mom that ><. Not a great role model for respect)
Would get pissed at his kids if they didn’t practically worship him as the best father
Kanato:
Gets ragefully jealous of Yui’s attention that the kids take away from him
Would have major issues with a boisterous, loud child
A shy, sensitive child would be even more anxious and fearful with him as a father
Would scream at them for breaking his dolls
Also would teach them how to make dolls
Laito:
Would be too permissive, letting the kids get away with way too much
Would undermine Yui’s parenting boundaries, such as letting them stay up way too late and eat candy when she said it was time for bed.
But he would lose his patience with them when they go too far
Continues to call Yui Bitch-chan in front of the kids
Doesn’t alter his language in front of the children
Is wildly inappropriate around them (doesn’t hide his pevertedness)
I want to say that Laito would never sexually abuse his kids. But I truly don’t know about that. For Laito, love equals sex. I wonder if he would have issues understanding where to draw the line.
Subaru:
Would lose his temper around kids when they press his buttons and would later feel guilty about it but not know how to apologize. This would cause rifts with his children
He would probably further avoid them, to avoid “dirtying” them.
Would scare a shy child with his temper making them more fearful
(Also none of this takes into account whether Yui is a vampire or not. That could possibly change the dynamics. Might also make their kids more murderous and messed up. Either way, sad to say but the kids are not gonna turn out fine 😢)

~ Subaru dragged Yui across the dungeon by her hair.
~ Reiji chained Yui in the dungeon and whipped her, continuing to do so even after she begged and pleaded with him to stop.
~ Yuuma punched Yui.
~ After Ayato chained Yui to a bed, Shuu blindfolded her and cut her with a knife while Ayato watched.
~ Laito strangled Yui under frigid shower water because she ran from him.
~ At the end of his original drama CD, Subaru says he wants to “join more deeply” with Yui, implying rape since she was not in his coffin with him consensually, and in fact had ran from him.
~ Using mind control, Reiji forced Yui to drink what he told her was poisoned tea.
~ While they are trapped in the dungeon, Laito strangled Yui with a spiked collar and leash. He also ripped open her blouse and bit into her back, making her push her breasts out on display for Subaru.
~ Subaru chained Yui in the dungeon and left her there.
~ When Kanato tried to drink Yui’s blood, Ayato choked her and blamed her for it… And then raped her.
~ Laito coerced Yui into touching herself in front of him, threatening to make her do it in front of all his brothers if she didn’t do it.

~ Shin made Yui lick his boots.
~ Ruki held Yui by her neck off the edge of a tower.
~ Laito forcibly removed Yui’s bikini top as she tried to take a shower. And like usual, he wouldn’t let her run from him.
~ Ayato handcuffed Yui in the sewers and disappeared, making her scream for him until her voice was gone.
~ Subaru sliced Yui with his knife, even as she begged him to stop.
~ Yuuma made Yui beg him by threatening her: Oy, if you don’t say it quickly I’ll beat you up! Ah, yes like that. Hold my body tightly. So, What must you do again? –takes the knife- Say it properly and I’ll reward you.
~ Ayato handcuffed Yui to a dartboard and used her face for target practice.
~ Kanato summoned a demon inside Teddy and made him hold Yui down while he sliced up her entire body with a knife.
~ Laito held Yui by her neck in front of a mirror and ripped all her clothes off, inspecting for bite marks from any of the others (and degrading her while he did so).
~ Laito used some unknown torture instrument on Yui in the dungeon.
~ Yui killed all the brothers as Kanato requested to prove her love for him.
~ Shuu pushed Yui to the ground and crushed her fingers when she tried to get him to walk home quickly in the rain.
~ In his More Blood Drama CD, Ayato became angry and wrapped chains around the mc’s neck and pulled tight.
~ When Yuuma kidnapped Yui, he taped her mouth shut after she cried when he ripped her clothes off with a knife.
~ Shin raped Yui in Ruki’s route and she had to bear his child.
~ In his drama CD, Laito held the mc’s head underwater for resisting him.
~ Ayato killed his entire family out of jealousy.

Innocent re-read: Volume 2
This volume follows the aftermath of Charles' first beheading, and it's not pretty. Once again there's a focus on Anne-Marthe and Jean-Baptiste's traditional values putting pressure on Charles, especially in regards to decapitating a living being perfectly without any show of emotion or stress - as if it's perfectly reasonable to expect a 14 year old, compassionate boy to do so. There's also the fact that the crowd only changes it's tune to pity with the violent way Jean Chartois went. The concept of children being viewed as expendable pawns is present, as it's shown that Jean-Baptiste has sex with his wife every night in hopes of having the next child to be a better successor than Charles.
Re-reading Innocent
So, the massage scene is so gross...Like, she gently presses the vertebrae right bellow the waist and Charles gives a little groan of pleasure, and then she says he's built just like his father...The vertebrae bellow the waist are erogenous and the fact he lies naked on the bet, there is no way...because that's how gravity and resistance work, that it didn't stimulate his privates...Just EW !
Yeah...All of this makes me think she and Jean-Baptiste have an emotionally incestuous relationship.
Let's Build a Catacomb Dwelling Heroine
Our aesthetic : Gothic fantasy with a touch of clockpunk.
The backgrounds :
Now...I cannot find online pictures of the flooded parts of the Paris catacombs, probably because they are too dark to photograph.
Also inspo taken from the book : "Chronique du Monde Noir, Livre des Monstres", the works of Édouard Brasey, folklore of France and the British Isles, and from Grec mythology, but also the case of the "Blond skeleton of Saint-Laurent". I just cannot show it here.
Now...For her looks...Since part of her will be inspired by the Blond Skeleton...She'll be ash blond. Also...I want her to look like she's both a part of the catacombs, but rebelling in her way against the darkness.
She would have a pale, translucent complexion and blond hair...She would look more ethereal with no visible waistseem on her garment...But sleeker outfit might be more practical for such an environment. Hum...to choose later.
Catacomb girl...
Well, I recycled her from my prose practice...
She'll live in a fairly cold and wet climate...So coats.
Something like this, but a lot less colorful and woolen, and maybe even a cute little Watteau pleat in the back.
I imagine her work clothes would be quite stained, probably with blood and posthumous fluids. Mathurine would be her make-shift name...But I am not fully happy with it.
A very bony color palette for her clothing...This is work clothes...So it would all be quite stained.
For her Sunday best...I would imagine her looks would be quite cute, doll-like...But perhaps still a little bit ethereal...Maybe ?
I think...Something more cute and frilly...But I am unsure what.
Now...I know I want her to be ash blonde...But for her eyes...I think I'd like her to have a bit of a necromantic vibe, so I could maybe give her hazel eyes to stand out vividly against her pale skin and light hair.
