Thank you, Jon Favreau, for saving the Star Wars universe. It’s a well known fact that I’m a Trekkie. It will always be my first love. That being said, I’m also a huge Star Wars fan. Saw all the movies, save the most recent one, on their first runs in the theater. (Heck, I even found about 2/3 of the prequels enjoyable.) But, there’s no doubt that, recently, they have left quite a bit to be desired in the story department. Fade in to The Mandalorian. Giving life to the mythos behind a rather obscure character in the movies, this has allowed us to learn of an entirely unique “Creed” in that universe. This “western in space” has brought us a new adventure with a wholly intriguing main character. It has also highlighted some of the best writing and directing that Star Wars has ever engaged in. A completely different side to the universe we all know and love. And, without Ewoks or Gungans, this show has brought us the cutest, and most enigmatic, character we’ve yet seen; the child. I can’t wait to see where the next season, and this “Clan of 2”, is going and what further life changing events the child has in store for Din Djarin and his world. No expense seems to have been spared on bringing this story to life. Lush sets, expansive landscapes, fascinating aliens and creatures galore have truly made this a great addition to the tradition and pageantry that is Star Wars.

Spoiler Free- Was it good? Absolutely! Was it great? Possibly. Was it the best Marvel movie yet? Gotta say..."nope" to that one. Epic in scope and magnitude with fantastic special effects and stellar performances by one and all. The group was brought together in a very intelligent way...did not feel contrived, and the two notable absences were sufficiently explained. Well done there. Thanos, as a CG character, was phenomenally well executed. {Much better than Steppenwolf in JL.] Lots of good laughs, that didn't feel forced, and lots of tear inducing moments. (Have some tissue handy.) An entertaining chapter in the Avengers "Saga" but, ultimately...unfulfilling for me. {Perhaps when I see it again, I'll feel better about it.} Hopefully, the MCU will answer a lot of the questions, that this story left us with, in upcoming films. I do, however, wholeheartedly recommend it for MCU fans.

Not your parents’ Lost in Space. WOW! I repeat: WOW!! We binged through all 10 episodes. The writing was splendid, the characters were fleshed out beautifully, (even though a couple were completely reimagined), and the production value was top notch! Kathi and I were absolutely blown away by this "feast" for our sci-fi hungers. I really hope there's a second season but, if not, it was more than worth the ride.
