I genuinely don't have words anymore for Leo.

I had no expectations coming into this world cup. He spent four years being asked if he was going to play in this one and saying stuff like "We'll see how it goes, how I feel once we're closer to it, I'm getting old, I don't want to be a burden, I want to go only if I can help and contribute"

And so I set my expectations low (for his standards). I expected him to come in from the bench in the second half, I expected him to score a couple of goals in the group stages, to get himself some assists and play a bit further back as a playmaker.

And then

this FUCKER

this ABSOLUTE INSANE MADMAN.

He plays every minute of all but one matches, scores 8 goals (EIGHT. GOALS.), has four assists (!!!!). Dribbles like a madman still in bursts. Passes like a god.

Is not only contributing to the team but the central cog around which the machine turns, the shining dagger point of it all. When all seems lost he finds an hidden well of strength from SOMEWHERE and turns back the clock.
