To elaborate on my prev post bc it 1 like, here is my explanation on my Baela kissing Alyn is racist writing.
Historically and today interracial relationships are vilified by racists and this view has affected media extremely heavily, these relationships even being banned from being shown by the Hays Code. This ban has unofficially continued in many pieces of media such as doctor who (the YouTuber zerowoolfe made a really good vid on this example) and many others. Baela and Jace are obviously an interracial relationships, and a relationship that has been established since near the end of season 1 and yet there are very few romantic scenes between the two of them despite having and entire season of being betrothed. In contrast Baela and Alyn, despite having very no previously established relationship, kiss within only a few episodes of Jace dying. In my opinion this shows a continuation of the racist trend of interracial relationships being side lined/disposed of in media, and shows the increasingly obvious racism of the writers of HOTD.
This is far from the only example of racism in hotd and I might make more posts discussing some of the other stuff at some point such as the removal of Nettles and the treatment of Rhaena this entire season.
