AleXa in Jersey City 10.18.22
I wish I could be normal about this but I canât, so. I knew AleXa in high school
Which is why I really mean it when I say, the fact she has lost her sop range (which she revealed during the meet and greet Q+A) is SO TRAGIC. her sop range was the thing of dreams. I have spent my whole singing career desiring her sop range
She also mentioned she would love to do a spooky concept in the future, and would love to collab with Wheein and Hoshi
The concert itself was incredible!! Sheâs a whole legend. She performed a cover of Woman by Doja Cat but everything else was original music, including some songs sheâd never performed live before
Ngl the whole thing had the vibes of an anime con concert, which I loved. But the crowd had the energy of a crowd ten times larger :)
She kept it real too, she kept joking about how she has asthma lol and actually taught us the Korean word for asthma near the end
Not AleXa doing a shot onstage lol
NOT ALEXA DOING A SHOT WITH A FAN WHO JUST TURNED 21
NOT ALEXA DEDICATING MOON AND BACK TO EREN MOTHERFUCKING JAEGER
Moment of appreciation for the backup dancers who were really doing the most â€ïž
It was such a fun concert! So excited I could go see her and that she seemed like she had a good time onstage :)
Igot7: iâm home!
Everyone: âŠ
Igot7: you know, whenever Carat walks in everyone shouts âCARAT!â
Igot7: is it asking too much to get the same treatment?
Army: weâre sorry try it again
[igot7 walks out and back in]
Igot7: iâm home!
Everyone: CARAT !

Play this at my funeral.Â
âSpecifically within K-pop fandom, my own fandom, Iâve seen a couple of things. Mostly how the language of social justice and specifically racial justice gets used and weaponized within fan wars. So, for example, thereâs a lot of discussion about cultural appropriation of hair and of music. But people use that, fans use that as a way to one-up each other about the worthiness of their faves, and itâs not really a broader discussion about race or anti-blackness in K-pop or K-pop fandom as a whole. Itâs just a way of saying âmy fave is better than yours,â or âyour fave sucks because your fave did this bad thing.â So itâs kind of troubling, because it really is using the importance of talking about racism and anti-blacknessâbut on a very surface levelâfor pettiness as opposed to actually for social change or for social justice.â
