the bell nestled above the door of the bookshop gave its usual half-hearted chime as it got pushed open. the sound was so gentle it almost always went unnoticed, much like the man who had installed it. today was no different. daemeon's eyes were fixated on the lines spilling across the old, stained pages of the book in his hands. his ink-stained fingers were curled around the handle of the chipped teacup in his hands, nursing it like the tea inside would burn his tongue despite having lost its' steam hours before.
