I disappeared for a while because of life, but I thought I’d provide my thoughts on the final proper episode for anyone interested. They are not in any chronological order or anything:
Mary was horrible (I don’t think her unhappiness was an excuse for what she did to Edith), but she had a couple of redeeming moments.
Mary and Henry’s romance was rushed, as was the wedding. I think we all know that. I don’t know if I support the relationship or not but they seem happy soooo whatever.
Edith deserves happiness she has become one of my favourite characters.
Edith is incredibly mature in all of this.
Also, she’s looked so beautiful this entire series.
Bertie is lovely and I’m 99% certain he’ll come back for Edith.
Mentions of Sybil and Matthew’s grave were important.
Thomas’ attempted suicide was heartbreaking but we needed more time with him.
That scene with him and George was adorable af.
That woman who married Larry (her name evades me rn) is also horrible and her smile pisses me off.
Isobel was v. accepting of Mary moving on and being ready (debatebly) for marriage and I like that.
I love Tom Branson. He’s a guru.
I also can’t see Tom with anyone, I don’t know why.
puppy puppy puppy
Violet is full of wisdom.
Carson has become a bit of a funny one with me right now, but the moments with him and Elsie this ep were nice.
Patmore is my queen.
I wanted more screen time for Anna and Bates but I always want that.
Mr Moseley...he made me sob. As an aspiring teacher, his little speech made me want to leap into the classroom and hug him. I love his character.
THE TWIST WITH SPRATT WAS LEGENDARY.
bananas.
