Can’t put standard freckles over the skin overlays?
Can’t set up your vampire sim’s dark form the way you want it not sacrificing your overlays?
Can’t put an Maxis Match overlay over an alpha-overlay?
Those issues will no longer bother you!

I’ve been trying to solve the overlay skintones problem for so long, because sacrificing an overlay for a skin detail and vice versa is a big obstacle to creating characters, but I still couldn’t find anything. And only once I bumped into something close, which still didn’t answer my question, but sent me in the right direction.
Here’s Attila. He’s a vampire. It took me a long time to create his image and pick overlays and skin details. His human form looks real good, isn’t it?
But when I started working on Attila’s dark form, the overlay brought me an unpleasant surprise. Honestly, it wasn’t a surprise to me, because I did know that you can’t put vampire skin details over an overlay, but I tend to forget about that when I start working on the human form.
I like to make specific dark forms. That’s why I do need vampire skin details, but as far as you can see, they don’t appear on Attila.
Not using an overlay is not a good idea because it’s an important part of Attila’s appearance. Let’s just fix that small issue. First of all, find the overlay you need in your “Mods” folder. Then go to The Sims 4 Studio and open “My Projects”. Find and choose your overlay in the new window.
Your overlay will be probably opened in the Studio tub, but you have to go to Warehouse, which means you must see this:
The next step is not necessary, but strongly desirable to make.
Sort everything on the left side choosing Cas Part (choose one of the variants excepting Thumbnail) and type SortLayer on the right. Most of the overlays have characteristics like that and even bigger which doesn’t let skin details be seen.
Different details need different numbers, but I suggest you to choose 1900 so you can see every skin detail. Then you have to repeat that all for other CasParts and save the file.
Now, when it has been fixed, Attila’s dark form looks the way it should. You can also put any else overlay over the first one. Have a nice game!
Notice: That only works for skin overlays, not for other skintones.
