Watcher's Embrace — TS4 GShade Preset
Cinematic preset with natural colors, inspired by Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. I designed it specifically for the realistic nature of Windenburg, using Alf-Si’s replacements and the Sunblind lighting mod.
This preset is perfect for both active gameplay (as it doesn’t distort hues or clutter the screen with excessive bloom, even the UI remains readable with all shaders active except CinematicDOF) and story-driven staging. It looks great at any time of day or season, indoors or outdoors, regardless of the weather.
Shaders:
On a powerful PC, the preset runs smoothly even with all shaders enabled, but here are some personal recommendations:
PPFX Godrays: A very situational shader. It adds atmosphere to shots like the cover photo of this post, but might look odd elsewhere. I don't recommend it for gameplay, so it is off by default. Try toggling it for landscape photography to see the effect.
PPFX SSDO and qMXAO: Best reserved for screenshots; keeping them on during gameplay may make the controls feel "heavy".
MXAO: Disabled by default, but you can enable it if you prefer sharper, more defined shadows.
Volumetric Fog V2 - alpha: This shader might obscure the Main Menu since it overlays fog on top of it. Simply disable the preset and re-enable it once you've moved past the menu. It displays correctly on the world map and loading screens.
fastblur and LumaSharpen: The Volumetric Fog shader occasionally causes unavoidable artifacts. fastblur masks these, while LumaSharpen reduces the resulting blur in the foreground. I’ve mapped them to the same key because they are tuned to work together. Disable both if you turn off Volumetric Fog or when taking indoor portraits to avoid blurring the character's face.
DELC_Sharpen: This balances the sharpness of characters and the environment over the aforementioned blur. If you disable the previous shaders, it’s best to turn this off too, otherwise the image may look "dirty" or over-sharpened.
Note on Resolution: This preset was created at 4K resolution. If you are playing in 1080p (Full HD), you may need to dial down the sharpening shaders to maintain a soft, natural look.
