The end of an era.
After much soul searching I have decided to make a change in my (blogging) life and start fresh. I can now be found at @becoming-balabusta . I’m writing this now because I feel like motzea Shabbos and erev Yontiff are going to be insanely busy… On that note, Aleph Tishrei will mark my birthday, a new year for me and the world. Your birthday is a special time to bless people, G-d has given extra koach, strength, so that’s what I’m doing now. (And even though it’s early, I hope with the merit of my birthday in my heart, that the Brachos will all come down on a revealed manner.) First and foremost, I pray you all have a Shana Tova U'metuka, a good and sweet new year. May G-d bless you all with a clean slate and the ability to make this year one with purpose. May you be blessed with clarity of the highest sort, to see revealed G-dlyness and Good. It too should carry on into all aspects of your life. IyH this year all who need will find their zivug (better half). It should be easy and clear. The process should be simple and you should find the right one without hesitancy. Go ahead, build that binyan adei ad! If there are financial issues, I pray that they are no longer. May giving tzedaka and living comfortably be natural. May all debts be paid off an all student loans be done! For those learning, I pray you absorb it like a sponge. Take it all in and make those who know you proud! May you pass/succeed/and sleep! In the merit of our teachers, parents, friends, and family… I pray we bring them all nauchus, pride. (yiddishe and chassidishe). To Hashem, I pray we do well and right by Him. In short, may you be benshed with all of the blessings, Aleph to Tof. Hazlacha (Luck) , parnassa (money), gezunte(health), shidduchim (love), so on and so forth. If anyone has a specific blessing, consider it blessed. I pray whatever you need will be revealed in the best way by Hashem. To all who are here, Jewish or not, may you have happiness and joy in whatever you do. May you never go a day without smiling. May this be your year! A Good Blessed Year to One and All!!!

There is nothing to defend
#i read a post once that described 90s kids as the generation of nostalgia #because so much technological advancement happened in such a rapid timeframe when we were growing up #that we can clearly remember having technologies that are now obsolete #like going from a corded hugeass phone to a small computer in your pocket just within our formative years is a major thing #and it sparks a nostalgia for our seemly ‘simpler’ childhoods #because so much rapid development makes it seem like it was a lot longer ago than it actually was (x)
This is the most solid explanation of our decade I have ever heard.
Oh my god
Just to add onto that, our childhood wasn’t even technology based. We grew up knowing of chalk, skateboards, jump rope, street hockey, playgrounds, butterfly collecting, etc. Slowly technology took over our lives and now there are hardly kids playing outside in the summer. We can clearly remember our childhood as it was and now we can see the clear line between it. We were the generation right smack in the middle of it all. Our parents were of non-tech and our children/young siblings will be all tech.
Not to mention, ours was the last generation that grew up with all those bright promises of “work hard, go to college, and you’ll have a successful life,” only to find those hopes abruptly dashed when the housing bubble burst. Milliennials have grown up expecting that disappointment, because for them, the problem has been there since Day One.
So 90s kids aren’t just nostalgic…we’re BITTER. And we ache for those days when we could still think that the world was boundless and full of the opportunities we were promised since the first day of kindergarten.
