Relaxin’ with Daft Punk
Relax Vol. 49, March 2001 Issue
(Their first album sold 2,000,000 copies worldwide. Their single ‘One More Time’ was a number-one hit in the US and in France (the last time they had one was three years ago) - truly, they’ve achieved some amazing feats. This month’s guests are the two from Daft Punk! … Ooh. Just writing about them makes us nervous. There’s something familiar about this… that feeling, that things have fitted together by chance (much like what they referred to as ‘coincident’) makes us think that France and Japan are not so far apart after all. It’s an easily-coherent feeling to us, too. Perhaps we’ve had an image similar to them programmed in our subconscious all along, way back from when we were little? So much that we had the automatic urge to ask them - “Hey there, Machine Baron! How’s it going?”)
('Machine Baron’ is a reference to a character from an old-timey anime, Steam Detectives. Images originally posted by accio-sh, though I can no longer find their original blog for credit. Please inform me of any errors or suggestions for better wording!)
