What a day! Driving through the magic light summernight on Alaska Highway/Purple Heart Road incl a visit into Canada, then returning to Anchorage via the Tok Cut-Off (hunters breakfast in Tok) and Glenn HWY. Endless forests, lakes, rivers and creeks, spectacular glaciers, snowy mountains above 16000 ft/4900 m in Wrangler/St.Elias NP (6 times bigger than Yellowstone NP) and far outposts. Amongst others I met eagles, owls, moose, caribou, mountain goats, beavers, as well as numerous hares and squirrels. Ending the day with a very nice dinner at the Bridge, followed by a special road trip on post with the Owens Team, topped by a meeting with this little cute 1 year old Black Bear in the Clearing and a baby porky pine following her mother's guidance and directions. The small, but impressive Eidsborg Stave Church in Telemark. All 29 remaining stave churches across the world built in the early medieval period are in Norway. They are Norway's most important contribution to the world's architectural heritage. More than 1000 stave churches were raised between 1100 and 1350 AD. Most of them disappeared due to the Black Plague from 1349, and miraculously they avoided total oliberation at the end of the 19th century by the great painters I.C.Dahl and Johannes Flintoe as well as The Society for the Preservation of Norwegian Ancient Monuments. (In Sweden, Hedareds stavkyrka at Hedared, Sandhult in Borås, Västra Götalands Län is an exception. Gratulerer med dagen til pappa, en sprek 80-åring! Tenk å være i like godt humør og i samme form som deg når jeg er åtti! På gavebordet er det naturlig nok truger og støvler, i tillegg til nettbrett! I dag er det sol og vår, for 80 år siden gikk den vordende mor først på ski fra Føynland til Nøtterøy og så til Tønsberg sykehus, men måtte gjøre vendereis for å komme tilbake litt senere.
