Now, Iām not exaaactly sure, if youāre referring to dating, when you say 'together', but I think Iāll just explain how their dynamic changes throughout time.
Anyway, so to me, they wouldnāt get along with each other at first, when they meet after the events of milky way wishes. (Keep in mind, Iām trying to leave out the backstory stuff and only focus on their dynamic, so sorry if there are gaps in the story and such.)
I like to think that they would act nice to each other, but they would both be fake and see through each otherās bullshit, without the other knowing.
Eventually though, Magolorās patience would wear thin and he would start to show his annoyance more, (like he does with Kirby in rtdl, when you constantly talk to him lmao) which Marx would find really funny and encourage him to be annoying.
Iāve had the idea that Magolor didnāt let himself be silly before meeting Marx and was only focused on the ancients, researching and travelling. He always had a silly and mischievous side, thatās just how he is, but he kind of just pushed it away, because he wants to be cool and professional sounding, buuuut Marx would change that, by being a cheeky jerk.
Marx just really brought out that side of Magolor (Heās a bad influence) and eventuallyyyyy they would start getting along. (by being jerks to each other for funsies and travelling together a lot)
There are also other factors, like Marx actually also showing interest in the ancients like Magolor, which Magolor is impressed by- and also that they both have struggles with loneliness, even if they experience it in different ways.
Okay, so, you might think that they see each other as friends now- but honestly, I think theyād view each other more as partners, because Marx would encourage Magolor to get the master crown, so they would essentially think about plans for it together like it was some business thing.
I headcanon that they both didnāt really have friends before they met, so itās hard for them to actually realize theyāve formed a friendship, if that makes sense. In fact, theyād probably be reluctant to make friends at this point in time.
They would only really realize during the events of rtdl, where theyāre apart, how much they mean to each other. They would start missing each other, because Magolor would be gone for a pretty long time, after his plan failed (ending up in another dimension + the dream kingdom)
Because of this, their reunion was a lot moreā¦ emotional than both of them expected, especially since they didnāt think theyād be apart for that long.
It would still take a while though, until they start dating, probably after star allies. Marx and Magolor would have a lot of emotional stuff to go through until then. Not necessarily with each other, but their own mental health issues,,
