in both art for that au, i gave dagur only two of his stripes bc in my mind oswald is still alive and chief and the three stripes are like a chief thing while the hier gets two. and in the newer piece Hiccup has one stripe on the opposite eye bc in this au the two of them are a set. a pair. do NOT separate them.

i do gotta wonder if some of the people who are vehement that dagcup is bad bc dagur and hiccup are siblings (they are not) just like. watched a different version of the show. this isnt even a media literacy issue; it's just straight up not paying attention to the show you're watching, so i'm wondering if in some translations they just changed the dialogue to make them siblings? or maybe people watched the english version when it's not their first language and got confused by the use of the word "brother" outside of a familial context? the misconception is too prevalent there's gotta be a reason for it
